And yet, it wasn't Starscream. Because it made no sense for it to be Starscream.

 

I like the way that's conveyed too with the hologram. Gives them more freedom too.
TBH, they could have taken more liberties with that approach if they could convey to audiences the internal holograms are more how they are perceived or perceive themselves over actual holo-recordings.

But either way, this movie sounds fun. Love that Blitzwing is getting added to the movies, and can't wait to see how the story plays out.
And it sounds like that Optimus Prime movie might be not far behind either. That one would be mostly animated though. I don't think he really has any on earth stories to tell in the movie-universe as yet. Not pre-2007 at least, though they have an open window between DOTM and AOE. But that'd be too sad of an ending. Rise of Optimus on cybertron could be interesting though.

It's not like they've been telling you it's a prequel to the other films since day 1. Let alone used Bernie Mac's voice over in the trailer or anything to help cement that fact.

Maybe it's those that kept screaming "reboot" that were projecting something onto this it never was.

Like I tried to explain, it's a hype move. Whether it was starscream or not was immaterial. It was the fact it would get people talking about the movie and getting hyped up for it. Same reason they stalled on the reveal of who it was. To let the hype and debates keep building for excitement and keep people talking. Same as now knowing it's Blitzwing will do the same to carry it a little bit farther on marketing.

Blitzwing is a really good choice though. Really like that idea. And the name really fits too for the usage.

 

It's shit like this that makes me hate being a transformers fan, and dreading to a degree people finding out. That is just dumb. I officially hate this girl more than that asian lady in The Last Jedi.

 

Stuff not making sense has not stop these films from doing it whatsoever.

 

But for what?
The DOTM misinformation campaign made sense, because Michael Bay wanted to hide Sentinel's betrayal.

As for Blitzwing/Starscream, what use will there be in hiding his name? It's not like he was an Autobot turned Decepticon.
