Though the echoing crunching of all those pricks insulting anyone who thought otherwise while claiming that it's so obviously Starscream eating their words is relaxing.

And I don’t know about you, but I find that there’s a whole lot of cheese to be found.

 

But even this is clearly Starscream.

 

It fit his character: coniving cruel duplicative sneeky, vain and weak.

Dorito Starscream is just plain ugly. Like, really really ugly. Nothing like his character to look like a gorilla.

Because its a horrendously ugly monster, nothing about it screams Transformer.

Ok the last two actually fit quite well.

 

Looks like someone doesn't understand how movies are made.

 

Sooo... This implies that it wasn’t a “nameslap” because it seems that they really wanted to use the name Mirage. But then why was he designed to look so different?

 

Remember when Sentinel was called “Ultra Magnus”, and DOTM Megatron was called “Cyclonus” in the concept art? I don’t like using this term, but the character who looks like Starscream, is colored like like Starscream, and turns into a jet like Starscream (even if it’s a different kind) is called “Blitzwing” then that’s a total nameslap.

 

Is that “Motormaster” one by Emerson Tung? Because it looks strikingly similar to some Doom concept art I’ve seen.

 

When is the footage/new trailer coming?

Also, does anyone have a vid of Mr. Cullen...I mean Mr. Prime asking about his movie? Please....

I read somewhere saying it's shown Optimus is a flat nose truck but he shouldn't have arrived earth at the time. So why would he have a earth mode??

 

So... what we were hoping was Starscream is actually Blitzwing- which leaves Starscream the way he actually was since 2007 and this new character another name slap in Bayverse tradition.

Sounds like The Bayverse continues to me.

 

Who is to say that bots and cons haven’t been coming and going?
After all, he left in AoE and returned in TLK.

 

Unless it wasn't his decision to name the character.

Perhaps he wanted it to be Starscream, but Paramount or Hasbro didn't want a reboot and forced the name change.

 

So glad that the transformer we saw in the trailer is Blitzwing! He has always been one of my top favorites! Hope he is still a triple-changer.  

While the design reminded me of Armada/G1 Starscream, it didn't make sense to have it be Starscream again since we already have one in the movieverse (unless this movie was a reboot). I was betting it was going to be Ramjet, Dirge, or another flyer. Super happy it turned out to be Blitzwing!!

 

I remember fucking up and saying out loud on the Movie forum (oops!) that despite the new baddy bot looking like Starscream, it wasn't actually going to be Starscream because it wouldn't make any sense that his bot mode would be 100% different in the past than what we see in the later STILL CANON movies, that he actually didn't even show up on Earth until much later according to the STILL CANON movies, and that it would just be too obvious to be Starscream... which is not how these movies ever work. Then the fun started where the diehard defensive turbo-fans came out of the woodwork to tell me I'm on crack because it's "so obviously Starscream", side by side pictures being posted to show me - the dumbass - how the colors and head design all match so it HAS TO be him, assertions that just because no bot in the movies has ever changed their bot modes so drastically, it doesn't mean that Starscream wouldn't/couldn't decide to turn into a monkey-taco later, and on on and on and on and on.

That was a fun day.

 

If he wanted it to be starscream I see no reason a reboot would need to be involved at all. We seen at the end of tf1 starscream leaves earth on his own so he can come and go at will, who is to say he wasn't here prior to the 07 movie? The drastic design change between the BB movie and the 07 movie could be explainable too look at the drastic design shift of optimus and bee in aoe. Even if the jet is killed in the movie it could always be explained at some point he was rebuilt, maybe leading to the design change from BB to the 07 movie if they really wanted this to be Starscream. I think like he said the call was his. He wanted a classic seeker design but also wanted it to be a different character and for whatever his reason was maybe he just was a fan of blitzwing went with that instead of naming him after any of the big three classic seekers.

 

I don’t think it has anything to do with the fact that they wouldn’t be able to explain drastic change of Starscream from 84 to 07.

I mean since when does in any of the Bayverse movies, do they explain the character changing appearences?

No matter how drastic the changes, those were never explain.

Look at Megatron, how many time he change looks from movie to movie? Hell even name change and no explanation whatsoever.

I would have love if the character in those trailer was Starscream.

But is not. Seems to me this is like Brawl/Devastator confusion from the first movie.

I think Hasbro is dropping the ball here.

Starscream is a more popular character and it would fit their merchandise better.
