My bet is that Sam is trying to impress Rosie's character--Unfortunately, Bee doesn't like Rosie (jealous?), so he reformats into the Datsun in order to make Sam look like a loser.

Even though we've already seen the newer Camaro, i'd die a happy man if when he goes to that Datsun 510 that when he upgrades again, he turned into a Nissan GT-R.

 

I reckon BB is gonna get fed up with sam just using him as a status symbol and showing his cool car off to his friends so one day bb will reformat into this old datsun just to show up sam.
