With Sam the counterpart of Tessa and Shane the counterpart of Mikaela. I know, it sound weird. Both Mikaela and Shane are badass drivers and know how to work with car. They both work in garages. They both drive a tow truck at the end of the battle in both movies (TF1 and AOE) to help the character fight against the villain. And they both complained about Bumblebee being a crappy car and making him change his vehicle mode. Both Sam and Tessa shout "Bumblebee" and "Optimus, get up" in the movies. They both serve as the humans character often need to be saved by the autobots and have difficulties in life
I would say AOE in ways self referenced itself a lot to the other films, we have had the Allspark, The Matrix and now the Seed. Even the beginning of ROTF was similar to AOE. Agree with you that Tessa and "Lucky Charms" were to give a nostalgic feel of the previous films. As you pointed out it's all recycled ideas that have been present throughout this whole franchise as of yet.
Yeah I agree (the one thing - Shane is much more cowardly, than Michaela, remember mister "I give up" , though in final he made many good things) and this repeat isn't spontaneous we're all similar in similar situation but now we see young heroes from the side and it's so funny!
Naah.. Sam at least had a little amount of weaselly respect for authority at times. Shane's the guy any high-school girl would go for: 1) He has an accent 2) He drives (Dad!) crazy
Tessa and Shane struck me as far more mature, grounded, and down to earth than the other two. I think they are far better characters. Tessa had a certain innocence and earnestness about her that the other one (Fox) did not have....
What Minty is saying is that they are reversed. Shane is to Mikaela as Tessa is to Sam. I think there's something in that. It might even be intentional.
They sort of in a way. Both young teenagers that are in a sexual relationship where one is useless and the other is slightly less useless..they have a supposed skill but it rarely ever gets shown off. I don't like either couple's character or their actors much.
