Megatron's final death was fairly sad, but more pathetic. He failed at everything.

 

It depends on how you define sad.

If you mean an emotional response to losing something you had grown attached to then no sadness. I just don't know enough about most of the Decepticons to feel more than eh some random CGI character got killed off to make one of the Autobots or humans seem like Billy Badass. Kind of bad when the bio on the back of the toy packaging would tell you more about a character than the actual movie. With bigger names like Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, or Shockwave I didn't really feel anything either because I wasn't attached to those characters except for remembering a version of the character I liked better. Their movie death eh, but their death in one of the cartoons that was pretty big.

Now if we are using slang where sad is another way to say lame that gets to be a pretty long list. But I'd have to go with Devastator because it's hard to get more disappointing than to play up the character as something big in the trailers only to pull off a life time achievement award in movie lame by having the entire Constructicon team killed off with one shot of a human super weapon that the movie pulls out of it's butt to never be seen or mentioned ever again.

 

But....... they're evil....

 

I didn't really feel bad for any of these guys, but Shockwave's, Soundwave's and Starscream's deaths were just sad and pathetic.

Seriously? The three biggest badasses behind Megatron, and one gets blinded by a freaking parachute, the other one gets owned by BUMBLEBEE of all people and the other one gets taken down by human soldiers. What. The. Hell.

 

Definitely this. Poor guy.

 

Sentinel was an Autobot.

For me the saddest was Starscream. Not emotionally sad, because I felt nohing for any baddie's death, but sad in how he went out. Being pot shotted by humans and wailing and crying. Then siiting on a ledge as his head explodes. Pathetic.

 

I didn't really find any of their deaths sad or disturbing. They all got what they deserved. About the only offputting one was the nameless character who got ripped apart to provide Megatron with spare parts in RotF, but that was just an illustration of how brutal the 'Cons are in this series.

 

The saddest death?
Well for most pathetic I'd say Megatron in DOTM. He didn't even put up a fight; he just let Optimus plant an axe in his head.
Starscream was the second most pathetic death. It was just awful...

 

That's my feeling too. Even in the original 1986 Movie Starscream got what he deserved. Same thing here. It's like feeling bad for a serial killer. I mean really?

This probably doesn't count, but what about that tiny Nokia bot in the first movie? That was hard to watch.  

 

Simmonds is yet to answer for that!

yeah that was pretty sad if you think about it. Although, since in Movie verse all tech which comes to life actually came from Megatron, there probably wasn't much hope for the little guy.

 

Always felt bad for the Cons. They got offed in the most brutal ways possible. Sure they are the bad guys and things have to look cool but it sucked seeing such cool looking characters go out with such ease. Justice wasn't done to the big 4 in particular; Shockwave, Megs, Screamer and Soundwave. Sentinel was probably the saddest for me. He was pleading for his life. He was a turncoat but I understood his motivations for what he was doing. Plus Leonard Nimoy.

 

In DotM when the Wreckers brutally tore apart that generic 'con in that crashed in the flying vehicle. I felt bad for that guy....

 

What is sad is not so much their deaths but rather the wasted potential most of the Cons in the movies are.

 

The movies only make us feel bad for Autobot deaths.
But Mixmaster and Shockwave went down too fast.

 

The guy was shooting up civilians for fun. Who cares about him?

 

All bots need sympathy. Are Autobots and Decepticons so different (besides the fact that the Decepticons look like insectoids that came from Hell)? Some Decepticons hardly did anything wrong like Sideways, and was killed without any other reason except the fact that their Decepticons.

 

They're fake movie monsters in terrible movies. There's nothing sympathteic about them. They're just props.
