The chest is apparently incompatible because of molding

I just got this kit, but unfortunately I seem to have lost a spring from the hip joint so the legs are really loose.   Looks pretty cool otherwise.

 

What happened to all of the other versions

 

I had a battle core optimus that I got to be the chest of a custom combiner, using all white limb bots. After putting some other combiners together I realize a lot of them have white as the primary color (god neptune, defensor, superion, abominus) and I have no black combiners.

Thats where SND comes in. I got this kit 5 days ago and successfully upgraded the core with no damage or lost parts, and he is stunning. I found someone selling gs ricochet for less than 20 bucks, so I bought 4. I also happen to have an extra clean pair of Perfect effect white feet and hands. I cannot post pictures yet but instability aside I think hes going to be a stunner.

I have all the SND kits and absolutely love them. I don't use them for the combiners, just the individual guys. IDW Prime, IDW Magnus, Nemesis, & Nova.
Can't wait to see your pics.
Too bad SND seems to have disappeared. Was really looking forward to their CW leader class Megatron upgrade kit.

 

Wow I didn't know that. Glad I got an X mortis for a reasonable price(50.00). I did get a CW Megatron upgrade kit, a DX9 toys AL-01 from eBay for (35.00) that makes him excellent in robot mode.

This kit is absolutely stunning as is, and may end up being displayed in robot modes (each ricochet holding a foot gattling gun)

 

Lost a pin too, so I guess it's a wash. Gonna see if I can sell what I have to a collectibles shop.

 

I would be surprised if you couldn't find replacement spring or pin online. Just snip them if they are too long.

I just need to get my hands on some hip ratchets so I can Ultra-Magu'tize my CW white Oprimus with that first release set I recently got.

 

Does anyone know of a comparable kit to the Nonnef ratchet upgrades that I could obtain 3D printed or otherwise?

I want to use my CW Motormaster to make this kit into the Nemesis Prime version from IDW, who only appeared in the dark blue/burnt orange a couple of times, but it's a lovely color scheme.

But my experience has been that without the ratchets, the wing backpack is too heavy.

Ricochet squad arrives today. I also have a CW Blackjack and 2x CW Legends class Groove that will bulk out any thin bits, probably bicep add-ons. Can't post photos yet, need a few more posts, but I will when I can.

think I can post them now! First robot, then vehicles, then combined of Nova Maximus and the Ricochets!

Thanks dude! In all honestly they were the cheapest limbs available that matched. Considered trailbreaker and air raid as other strong possibilities.

I used a small part of a figure stand that can hold the 2 piece weapon as one and be used with perfect effect hands. Shaped like a hollow cylinder, 1 inch long cut in half longways, with a 5mm peg on the top.

Bonus the 5 mm peg can be used to hold a weapon like this on a figures back if It had a port. I shaved it down a bit so the hand could close better.

Tried wings out combiner mode, used a stand just in case. Love the look don't like the stress on the wing plates.

 

Sorry to bump old thread, but I'm going to buy this set and have a question: is it better to replace hip ratchets with those in a kit or better to leave originals?

 

iirc the new ones have more teeth. with the added height of the figure you need more teeth so it can do a good a-stance.

 

Trouble is that you can't find the Nonnef ratchets alone anywhere. I really would like to see someone post a 3D print alternative if that's possible.

 

Oh man... wish I saw this nearly a year back when those Steppers were being sold at like 12 bucks a pop in several places... would've bought a whole fleet, just for this.

 

What about those replacement rachets from SND-04 kit?
