I've been studying the new leg panels and I wonder whether they are essential to his alt mode. Given that I'd like to use this kit to make a Devastation version of Nova, I would leave out the leg add-ons and spray paint his lower legs white to match the game. It's hard to tell whether the add-ons provide panels for alt mode to compensate for the thigh extensions. Any feedback, John? Thanks!

 

Unless Maketoys decides to reissue their HyperNovae soon, this will be my go-to for a Nova Prime, but first i'd need to get a CW Battle Core OP

The problem with Hyper Novae is that it's too expensive (wasn't it $200 at launch?)... and too small.

 

Well, small is relative. It goes from deluxe (base figure) to Voyager size (w/upgrades), which fits perfectly with my present collection.
Is it/was it expensive? yeah but worth it IMO, it's the best NP ive seen.

 

I hope so.

 

I'm not sure about the size, I just based it on the Battle Tanker that I had which I don't think quite reached Voyager size.

As for looks... I think this looks better than Hyper Novae and the MMC version. And it's cleaner, with less stuff going on. But that's just me.

I might look into this, I have the Battle Core Prime from back when I thought I wouldn't find Skylynx. He only has one of the new ratchets in his hips though...

 

If you get the nonnef ratchets it won't matter on the stock ratchets.

 

I got one missing a few wheels, and now I'm torn on whether I need them. I can get Motormaster for the 20$ region and yank wheels off him... or sell this one for 15$ and try to get another BC Prime for the 35$ I would end up spending anyway.

 

Sadly, I don't think their version will ever come out

I mean they're both awesome; it's just that we have to acknowledge that these one-guy projects are never going to have the speed of even a small company.

 

Beelzeboss had gotten pretty far with what they did and it looked like it was gonna be done and then there was nothing. I've read over and over how Beelzeboss takes forever, but it looked like their version was almost done. At the end of the day the SND stuff looked way better. I was gonna get the Beelzeboss stuff, but it just didn't look as good as the SND stuff. I also wonder if anybody bought the Beelzeboss kits. We never really know anything about sales but, it looked almost done then has kinda vanished
