They were talking about reducing the number of articulated figures and doing an SH Monsterarts Zero line instead or in addition. Bleach!
Yes, but Zero is not a real MonsterArt. A real MonsterArt is a full articulated monster. Thus, reducing the figures to nothing but repaints and going Zero means the MonsterArts line is dead.
Actually, I concur with Cain...this line is D-E-A-D. The only chance it revives if the next Legendary movie is a monster hit world wide.
If Toho make it into a series of films, it has a 'chance'. If they don't...and if the reaction isn't good, I don't see Bandai Japan pumping out figures via monsterarts. I honestly don't know where're to laugh or cry over that statement! X)
All I can say is even though their were some hiccups here and there, but you can't deny that SH MonsterArts gave us some well articulated monster figures. Sure, they should've done other eras, but I guess Bandai has other priorities.
Anything is better than Americans making a Godzilla movie that is about douchebags and Godzilla only meanders around the background for 2.5 minutes. It's pretty fucked up then Pacific Rim is a better Godzilla movie.
Even for human characters, those in the 2014 were no better or worse than the ones from the Heisei era.
Yes but the problem is a great Godzilla design that's not featured in the movie... I can't recall the movie that well now but I basically remember Godzilla killing the Muto as seen from a passing subway car.... Seriously it's Godzilla's movie where the fuck is he, I want to see the monsters not gibber jabber about nothing. The food is terrible and such small portions.
The MUTO didn't die in Hawaii. The movie built up that Godzilla is symbolic for a disaster like he was in the original. You don't need an hour long boring action sequence. Would I like more Godzilla action? Sure. However, this movie held the spirit of what Godzilla is supposed to be and encompassed all of the different eras of Godzilla better than even some of the Japanese movies.
And besides all of that, the movie did really well in the theaters. I know it's hip on the internet to call something shitty if it doesn't make a billion but Godzilla outperformed quite a few Marvel solo films which is pretty impressive considering Godzilla barely had any screentime. If Godzilla 2014's theatrical performance were any kind of factor in whether this line continues, we'd still have new Monsterarts coming out. It wasn't and they planned the end of this line quite a while back and that's turns out to be the reason we got so many "no comments" back around the time there was a fan poll for titanosaurus and people were asking about G89 being teased and never delivered. I think it's a pretty impressive line for what it is. The late era Godzilla films are well represented. Kinda mad I'm not getting a super articulated Megalon though
