You guys should be interested to know that I received my Godzilla from AmiAmi today. It was actually delivered on Wednesday, meaning the order took a paltry nine days to arrive, just two days after the Amazon order and an impressive record for SAL if I must say. Talking about the eyes is all the rage, and the second one I received is interesting. The eyes are definitely arranged straight, but they're also bulging too far out from the sockets. This exposes the top edge of both of them and does look a bit weird, but the error is "uniform". I have to get a pic of this, because it's really so interesting, which I will surely do a bit later. After the surprise price drop when Godzilla came in stock and the poor exchange rate, Amazon's going to be my go-to source for MonsterArts for the foreseeable future, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do for Mechagodzilla. He's in-stock at AmiAmi and supposedly delayed until January on Amazon... but Amazon did the same temporary delay for Godzilla last month. Hurm.
Nice, Chosen. Hopefully we can see the eyes. As for this eye debate I need to see it for myself, but I do know that some of my dino figures are some eye problems. Somehow I don't find this troublesome, but kinda humorous in a way.
I'm pretty sure he's referring to what I said was wrong with my AmiAmi Godzilla. Pics will have to wait until after I cover my take-home exams tomorrow. Somehow I don't buy my professor accepting "Godzilla photography" as a reason for poor performance. Just a hunch!
So, just ordered Goji off of Amazon and he should be here in a couple of days. Really excited for this figure and excited for this line overall. Price be damned! I'm grabbing all of the Godzilla related stuff they release as this is a dream come true for me. As a kid, growing up with these old movies in the eighties and than rediscovering Godzilla in the 90's with the release of the newer films on VHS (yeah... showing my age...) I've always lamented that we've never had highly articulated figures of the group... Sci-Fi Revoltech was a nice start, but this is just epic. Can not wait for my Godzilla to arrive!
I would have been happy with the Revoltech line if they could make Godzilla. Because they can't get the license for him thanks to Bandai, it pretty much kills the line for me. Like Transformers without Optimus. What's the point? Mine is in transit now as well. Should be very cool.
Guess who showed up at my doorstep today? His joints are so freaking tight. It's awesome. Sculpting is beautiful, as to be expected from Sakai. He can't do a Rider Kick (may have to wait, what, 5 years? for G2000 to do that) but he can shei, and that's what counts. I think I lucked out hardcore, because mine's eyes seem totally fine. Almost perfect, as a matter of fact. Goddam, this guy was worth it.
For those who might care or not, I just received an email from BBTS that Godzilla is on the way. But man still waiting on ToyArena because that one is still for a friend.
That's the spirit buddy! I'm right there with you on this line being a dream come true. I had a King Ghidorah from that old Trendmasters line back in the day, but that was it. Can't wait to get more of them.
Finally found a Goji with a decent pair of eyes! Here's some pictures: 1. Comparison with 6 inch vinyl 2. Comparison with 8 inch vinyl 3. Comparisons with rest of Goji figures (including the one which appeared in Ultraman) My opinion of the toy? It is a fantastic toy and maybe the "perfect" Goji. The only down side is that he should have been bulkier. IMO he should have been 7 to 7.5 inches taller - between the 6 inch and 8 inch Gojis (I displayed). I guess maybe Bandai wanted him to be compatible with the Revoltech Kaijus but IMO it makes him (dare I say) scrawny against Ultra Acts Gomora and Golza. Afterall, Ultraman is 40m (app.) tall while Goji is 50m(app.)
