And does anyone know how i can remove the green paint of neca GMK? I'd like to know how before i get him and I'd also like to not mess up his eyes dorsal fins mouth and claws
You should be able to use enamel pant thinner with a makeup sponge/wedge over most of the body, and q-tip/cotton bud near the eyes & mouth, etc. You could also use nail polish remover, as long as it contains acetone, but that's usually a bigger risk of "melting" the plastic if you have to use too much of it. The safest method would be to just drybrush grey all over the figure, which is what I did. You'd probably want to do this anyway even after removing the greenish paint. I used a lacquer-based enamel (Mr. Color) because it really adheres super well to the plastic. Even if it's a gloss paint, drybrushing should still give off a matte finish since you're using so little of it. You can always hit it with a matte topcoat afterwards if you end up using too much. Here'e a pic of mine, I swear the grey came out way brighter than it actually is, due to my phone's flash. And, as you can see, it looks like there's still a hint of green left on some of the areas. Guess it's time for a 2nd round of drybrushing, lol. Here's the outdoor shot, I got tired of waiting for the clouds to clear. Maybe the grey really IS that bright, because I'm not seeing a major difference between the two.
Sure, but it'll have to be a bit later. I want to take it outside since sunlight's the best light, but it's currently overcast outside.
I edited the outdoor picture into my post. The sun never came out, but I think it gets the point across that... they grey I used is probably just a shade too light, lol. Just to get back on topic, I originally never planned to buy the SHM version of G 2001. I thought (and still do) that the NECA one is visually on par with the SHM aside from the color. But, once tax refund time came around, I found myself ordering it from Amazon. I love both, it's one of my top 5 favorite Godzilla designs.
Sweet collection dude! I like the set-up with Neca hanging above and the Bandai figures below! My younger boy (last week) told me recently that he actually likes Gojira and Ultraman! The movies for the former are too long while for the latter, the episodes are in Japanese with Eng subs (which can be flashed quite fast across the screen).
Thanks! It’s grown a bit since then but it’s all scattered around or packed away at the moment. Looking forward to getting them all out again. it’s great when our kids start picking up and appreciating the things we like. I’ve been counting on it since part of the reason I collect is to pass my collection on to my kids.
I think it's a proven fact that the happy dance only works on Showa Godzilla (Excuse the hand i don't have any stands yet)
I'm really sorry for all of the questions but i have one LAST one please forgive me what is the best way to remove GMK's gum line? I know for sure that wasn't in the movie
I guess it depends on the movie as the Heisei movies are 15 minutes too long while KotM was 30 minutes too long.
I really took the "No rush" comment to heart. Consider that all my Godzillas are NECA. I think they look good together, although I admit that the MonsterArts Heisei Godzilla is clearly the better choice. However, MonsterArts never used the mold for a cool Reactor Glow Godzilla like this. And a look at Ghidorah's greatest fear!
Oh god yeah. I didn't think any of those movies needed to be around 105 mark. They would have been much better at 90ish, especially Mothra, MechaG, and SpaceG.
