Sorry, I'm confused.
Are you saying your KotM Ghidorah can stand on its own?
Being a man of science...Witches
Yes, I had a picture and everything, just look a few pages back.
I've decided to give up on hoping for MonsterArts to make Showa figures (and NECA to the non-Godzilla extent) and picked these guys up when I came across them at Walmart:
The paint job on King Caesar is actually quite nice for a $13 vinyl.
As for the Godzilla, he goes quite nicely with the 3 Showa NECAs I do have. Actually, I used to how this 68 figure and I liked it a lot back then, but got rid of it expecting Bandai to eventually do one in the MonsterArts line. How stupid I was.
They did have MechaG74 as well, but since he does have a MA I need to pick up at some point, I figured there was no reason to grab him.
I looked and I did manage to see this post:
S.H. MonsterArts - Godzilla
However, the wings go off frame and I just assumed that something or someone was holding them up.
You're saying that pose is unassisted?
I don't see how I'd ever get mine to do that.
It wasn't supposed to arrive until the second week of January, but my Bootleg Ghidorah arrived today.
It came in a box that said "Special Color Version"
It has all of the beam effects of the original, the flight stand, everything.
NECA GMK Godzilla for scale.
I don't know how it compares with the OG Special Color Ghidorah but it's very shiny!
I like it.
The wings were off in the package and the tail was in segments.
So it was in exactly the same shape as my official 2019 MonsterArts King Ghidorah except this one fared better in that the pieces stayed together when I reattached them.
The seller still has some available although the price has gone up a little more than $30.
I might have to get one. Could i see it with Sh. monsterarts 2019 Godzilla?
I don't have it, but I'll work in the NECA one.
They're pretty much to scale.
Close enough for me, anyway.
Do you have the neca heisei Godzilla or siege Prime?
Yes and yes.
Could i see it with heisei Godzilla? No rush
How's this for unassisted?
Looks like there's a few different Ghidorah bootlegs floating around now - that one you have is definitely the Heisei SCE, but I've seen one that uses the Heisei heads but the bootleg Showa body, and then there's the Showa bootleg proper.
I got the Special Color Ghidorah when it came out and it's one of my favorite collectibles. It's awesome using the flight stand.
I got these 3 in on Christmas day they are awesome sadly 94 has a right eye issue (I'm gonna have to get another one)
I got Rodan & Mothra last night. Rodan I'm really pretty happy with. A little frustrated by the neck trying to get it straightened out for some good flying poses, but otherwise haven't had any problems. Maybe one more cut in the wings like NECA's would be nice though.
Now Mothra... Uuugh. I really didn't understand how small she'd be for starters. And then because of that, all of her limbs are a super super soft plastic and were mostly all stuck in place initially because of paint. So trying to move them and the soft plastic just starts bending. Nevermind that one of her legs is badly warped out of the packaging. Really have to get a good grip near the ball - hard because she's so small - to move things. I haven't handled NECA's to compare, but she at least does look so much better with their sculpt work. Silly loyalist I am heh.
Does make me wish even more I had gotten a Ghidorah though, since I do still like seeing them all together.
And hoping we get a new Kong for this year's film. And... certain others that may be appearing per recent toy leaks...
What are some of the best neca Godzilla figures? I'm thinking of getting some more but I'd like to know what's the best
Sh Monsterarts 2019 Godzilla
The King Kong vs. Godzilla Godzilla is fantastic, the new one looks great too but I don't have it in hand yet.
Honestly the Heisei (and video game) ones done so far are the weakest NECA efforts, but all the Showa Godzillas are cool.
I agree with Chosen. I have the Space Godzilla Godzilla and I'm not a fan. I like the '85 Godzilla enough but I don't love it. The '54 is ok but a little cartoonish in the head I think, at least compared to the SH Monsterarts one.
I think their Showa figures are better mainly due to them being newer & NECA having learned a few things over the years. The only figures of theirs that I think are real misses are the 1954 and 2014 versions. The others are fine if you don't already have (or want to spend the extra money on) the SHF equivalents.
I'm a big fan of the 2001 Godzilla, but NECA decided to drybrush him in a very greenish grey that just isn't right at all. He's also a bit more hunched over than I think he should be. Still a very solid figure, jus a couple of nitpicks really.
Since you've got the SHM 2019 Godzilla, I'd recommend checking out your Target stores for their exclusive NECA "Burning" variant made of translucent red plastics & bright orange pint apps. I found mine about a week before Xmas, and I haven't seen one in stores since, but you never know.
