This is just a guess on my part, and I'll admit it's a stretch, but I'm wondering if it had anything to do with Kaiyodo having done those in their Revoltech line years earlier.

Any particular reason why KOTM Godzilla is less expensive than 2014 Godzilla?

He's brand new, and Bluefin brought him stateside to coincide with the movie. Also, most SHM figures go up significantly in price over the years.

I never bought the 2014 figure, but I do like the head on him better than the new figure's head.

Guys, I better give clearer instructions on how to select a Goji2019 with better eyes.

The left eye should not only be centre but more towards the snout... but not too inwards. Hope this helps!

Most of the time it’s possible to use a hp’s torch function to check - both eyes (right eye is harder to check) But be warned the plastic sheet insert may pose some challenges.

Well, Godzilla came in and as expected there are a couple of issues, but they're pretty small.

The right eye is ever so slightly off (not too bad), some of the tail joints are pretty stiff (and one section came off in packaging, but a hairdryer got that back on), and it's missing the stand arm for the beam effects.

For the price I paid though? I'll take it gladly.

Congrats man! It’s definitely a beautiful piece. Bandai did a good job with this figure. My only complaint is that it can be “gappy” in certain poses.

Yeah, the redone Heisei Godzilla is pretty nice. I just wish they had put that much effort into their Showa and 2002 Godzillas.

Personally really didn’t like mine, the torso wouldn’t stay together much and it somehow felt more hollow than Burning Godzilla. It’s also in a way just a made-up rather than suit-accurate figure so it’s easier for me to dismiss too, I suppose.

Oh? I didn’t notice the difference in heft? Both feel pretty “light” to me.

Sorry to read about your torso not staying together. Mine has the tendency to lean forward- the upper torso.

What's the difference between "Unlicensed figure" and "Custom"?

There’s an unboxing video on yourube with regards to King Ghidorah but its in Cantonese (a chinese dialect) which I don’t understand.

For those interested key-in “S.H.M King Ghidorah 2019” in your search.

In my part of the world, unlicensed means 3P or even bootleg.

Custom means the owner modified the figure for his/her enjoyment and its not for sale.

However it should be noted that some folks may sell their customs.

I don’t know how any company would design this Ghidorah in particular in a way where it stands unaided and wings outstretched, due to the mass of those wings. Maybe if they were paper. My tiny Jakks Ghidorah can’t, I don’t think the 6” figure can, the vinyl reduced their size and they’re hollow. If X-Plus ever tackles the design I’ll be very curious.

They probably need to start making diecast skeletons for these types of figures rather than relying on plastic joints to bear the weight.

For real though, that Ghidorah looks awesome. Can't wait to get mine.

I'm not too worried about the stands for the wings, those things are huge. The first Ghidorah had issues with it's wings and those look to be half the size. Atleast Bandai gave us a solution this time with the first release.

Has anything else been said about US releases of these figures?

Godzilla's been out for a while now: Godzilla 2019 (Bandai S.H.MonsterArts)

Ghidorah ships in a couple of weeks, Rodan/Mothra already went up for preorder, what needs saying?

EDIT: Only found out today that there's finally a MonsterArts bootleg! It's of Godzilla 2019 and it's not particularly amazing looking.
