Although if someone like Nonnef, Shockwave Lab, or another upgrade kit maker made a transformable tail gun kit for cheetor I could get behind it.

Either it be the classic style with the barrel hidden in the tail

or the MP style butthole blaster where the barrel folds under and faces behind.

No offense, but I'm hoping for the exact opposite.
The Siege versions of Hound, Sideswipe, Mirage, and Red Alert weren't Cybertronian enough. They were practically earth modes but with the serial numbers filed off. It's bad enough that the Datsuns and Megatron got repeated.

And.thats not even factoring in the fact that the 84 crew all got modern toys already back.in classics, Universe 2008, and non-subtitled Generations.

Meanwhile we still have a massive pile.of characters from 88 onward who still.only have their g1 bricks

 

Just transformed my Legends Rhinox for the first time in a while.

I absolutely adore the beast mode but the robot mode is a bit lacking with the wonky torso/hips and off-character face sculpt.

I'm very curious to see what Kingdom Rhinox will look like and how tall he'll end up being.

The design philosophy for beast mode is the same as Generations so I imagine they will look similar (realistic) but bot mode will probably strive for greater show accuracy, which is pretty exciting.

 

I can sympathise with your sentiment, but I disagree with regards to Hound. He was neither Cybertronian nor Earhmode enough. He's kinda foating in between. However, if we got an update it would be 99% a remold of the siege version and I don't think I wanna see that again cos I fear it would be more on the Ironhide/Megatron side of remolds than Optimus/Datsuns, due to the feet on the sides. Just like Ironhide thos siege feet would still be there, but the interiour and shell would be remolded to be more Earthlike.

Unfortunately, I think it's very likely to happen. Just like Sideswipe. He's too easy a cash grab not to remold

 

Galactic Odyssey is a subline of repaints though, it's pretty unlikely that the remaining 4 sets will have any of those 88 onward characters

 

I'm hoping they all get more accurate premium paint jobs down the road.

 

It seems like a great way to get at least one reuse of each mould. The decos of Blackarachnia and Cheetor certainly have opportunities for improvement/screen accuracy. Megatron, not so much. He's so damn handsome!

 

Back in classics and universe? So 10-15 years ago? I think a large number of the fandom in the forum these days weren’t out of diapers yet when those toys came out. It’s perfectly fine to get updates based on their G1 looks, unlike the gangly and awkward Universe molds of some characters. These are main roster characters that Hasbro wants to keep in the public eye, as opposed to someone like the Headmaster Jrs, who believe me I’m dying for.

Megatron's paintjob looks perfect and the headsculpt and torso seem like they cannot be improved. I'm gonna want to see the backpack properly folded up and more of the t-rex head before I go all in, though.

And it may not come with the figure. Could be alternate tooling for a future release

 

I think it's safe to say it's coming with the figure given how many copies are out there with it. I've never seen a pretool get distributed so much early on, myself

 

How many copies are out there with it? We've also never seen nearly an entire mainline get leaked prior to even being officially acknowledged, but these are strange times we are living in  

 

Well Apollux and Phamduc at the very least were able to mention it with different sources, Tonton and now Actar have the mask in their own copies, I don't recall if anyone else had a Blackarachnia to begin with
