Meh I'm disappointed if its true. I really loved Transformers Prime and will miss it as much as I still miss Transformers Animated. Was hoping they might do something more close to like the movies maybe or even the original G1 series.

There isn't a need to aim towards kiddies at all. Look at Batman TAS. It's has both serious, and lighthearted. Simple designs are not a problem, but going soft with kids shows is. If it's action packed, kids will love it. If it's got good stories, and great characters, adults will enjoy it too. You can please both audience Hasbro.

All good, if the designs are nice and the toys the same, I don't care.

I'm betting it'll be less like that and more like the original Teen Titans, the new TMNT (which is quickly becoming my favorite show in the franchise, and I grew up with the original cartoon), or, yannow, Transformers Animated :p

I would much prefer a a mature last stand of the wreckers feel, even if it it TV-14 or TV-MA.

If the toys are closer to Rescue Bots then that's money saved!

Hazbru going back to it's roots.

I won't be watching it. but who knows...I may still get the toys.

But, if they are bot shots or rescue bots aesthetic, i'll be saving a whole ton of money

here's to hoping for more TF animated types of designs. :p

    Exactly.

Y'know, it's amazing how much the TF cartoons and comics have changed over the past few years. It's been a complete role reversal.

I watched TF Rescue Bots for the first time yesterday. Is this show aimed for 3/4 year olds? The animation reminded me of the lower budgets of PBS shows...but it seems like that's how most things are going.

I'm not bashing PBS, my daughter and I love Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and other PBS shows.

Several things mentioned during the aforementioned SDCC '13 TF Prime panel did catch my interest though. The possibility of 2D opening up the landscape for more characters (as the budgetary constraints of 3D limit this currently), rather than the 1 or 2 new ones seen per season with Prime. And two, the idea of bringing in the Dinobots. Yes, this was mentioned as a very likely possibility.

So as long as the show rides the tone between Animated and Prime- while insulting the audiences of neither but expanding the possibilities inherent in both- and the toys aren't romper room simplistic or dopey... I may give this a chance. 'MAY'!!

Haha, that's certainly one way of going about it! All I want is a decent looking Blades, but that's never going to happen.

Given what they said at Botcon about wanting to go into a more simplistic design for the toys, I'm honestly not expecting too much. Gives me time to go spend my money on collecting the toys I failed to collect back in the day anyway... and save up for Masterpiece Red Alert.

But, we'll see. Maybe they'll surprise us?

Some members here seem to already be writing this series off ... off of some rumors. Strong rumors, but rumors none the less.

My point is, I'm certainly giving this series a shot. I wrote off Animated before I saw a single episode and boy was I WRONG!

The over-reaction of some in this thread is laughable.

    Firstly this is all rumour.

Second - complaining about Transformers being a kids show!?!!

Really???? I'm stunned. Where have you been the last 29 years!?!

Targetting toward a younger audience does not mean you're going to get 'Transformers' Meets 'In The Night Garden' or 'Peppa Pig'. Relax. Unbunch the panties.

I don't think the "maturity" was the problem, so much as the slow pace and more high-level dialog. Directors probably have no problem showing cartoon murder to kids, as they don't use long words to describe it :)

This is the reason for the upscaled legends toys. A simple cartoon to use the same simple style. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, but Animated didn't have the exact same creative team as Prime. If that's not a good enough reason to write off the next show, then I don't know what is.
