This is sort of sad. Mike probably headed out to visit a friend, got spotted by someone, and now the entire Transfandom has itself convinced the movie will be set it Philly.

 

No one is claiming the movie will be set in Philadelphia. But there's no reason to believe that the movie couldn't film a portion in Philadelphia.

It's not like we're talking about a city that's devoid of film history or desirable locations to shoot big budget films. If someone said Bay was spotted at a collage in, say, Montana or Delaware, then I could see some reservations.

 

Penn's campus has some great architechture and there's a nice open park between Penn and Drexel. It's also right off of Interstate 76 which could be great for a car chase, and 30th Street Station which could be great for an on-foot chase. If this turns out to be more than speculation I'll definitely be checking it out.

I just hope Sam doesn't end up at Temple, because he'll have worse things than decpeticons to worry about. (I'm a Temple Alum, I can say that).

 

Looks like the leaked script was true after all! That was just as "fake" as the leaked script for the first film, which proved to be a 1 to 1 copy of what we got to see on the screen; give or take a couple of minor, hardly noticeable details.

 

I'll assume you've never been to Philadelphia if that's your only impression of it. As far as filming goes, there's a ton of old industrial space that could make for great backdrops, and there's plenty of great scenery, architecture, and historic landmarks that could transition well to film.

No offense, but don't dog a city you don't know anything about.

 

Maybe Bumblebee will run up the steps!

 

I sense a good hideout on delaware avenue around all the warehouses and old port buildings. WOOHOO

 

Yeah, there's a ton of old industrial spaces along Columbus and such that could make for great hideouts or chases like the Bumblebee v. Barricade one. I'd like to see the Ben Franklin Bridge make an appearance - I love that damn bridge.

According to Bay's administrator Nelson, Bay is also scouting in Washington DC.

 

I too am a Temple Alum, and yes there are things there that are far scarier than anything a Decepticon can throw at you.

 

And for those who need even more proof that Philly is being scouted, Main Line Today is also suggesting Philly may be used in TF2.

I'd like to see Barricade roll through some gang's turf in North Philly - The gangstas come out yelling and fire off some shots at Barricade, then he transforms and they shit themselves and take off. I think that's what this city needs to cut down on crime. Vicious, transforming police cruisers.

 

Bravo. I got a little defensive when I saw that comment. I swear on all that is holy, if they start filming in Philly, I'm gonna be on a plane home so fast heads'll spin. I'd love to see Barricade try to conquer the Schuykill during rush hour. Or see 'Bee try to maintain patience on any street in South Jersey.

I can't help but say this and Delaware folks, I'm sorry. But Delaware? I can just see it now... Starscream plots to take over the world starting in poultry packaging facilities on Rt 13 or he attacks Dover for the C5s.
