They seem to be proud of the shot where the kid gets out of the car while it's transforming, but it looks terrible.

My expectations were pretty low, but I just felt indifferent.

 

I hope they don't get rid of the Prime's mouth. As there are other fans who like it. I'm one of them. If the Scourge is Bayverse Prime rumor is true I think that might ruin the film for me. As I think it'd be an insult as someone who's still loyal with the films even with The Last Knight and Revenge of the Fallen. As it would be worse than The Last Knight. I'm hoping this film is at least as good as Dark of the Moon or Age of Extinction in terms of characters and story. I'd love to see these characters grow into the future set like how Revenge of the Sith had Republic ships that looked like Empire because well you know. Or something more obvious like when Anakin is suited up as Darth Vader. It's why I love and respect Star Wars so much as it embraces the good and bad of the franchise, now by that I mean the films and television series, not the comics. Before we get to the sequel films we don't know if The Mandalorian era of television will lead to the Sequels or as rumored "decanonize" them which I don't think they will. I heavily dislike the sequel era.

Oh good, been waiting for your critique all afternoon. As usual, you don't disappoint.

 

It IS the FIRST trailer for a movie that's 6mo out. They aren't gonna give everything away all at once. We got too see how the movie feels aesthetic wise. Then we'll see more of the characters and clearer shots of the designs (but not giving everything away!), Then we'll understand the plot a little more (again leaving the movie to explain everything)

 

This is how I'm feeling too. Like the trailer felt very meh. It was really clear that they intended that shot to be epic but it wound up just being...okay.

 

I'll be interested to see how they explain the Arcee changes. When she's holding on to Wheeljack she has the tires on her heels and not on her shoulders, but in later shots, when walking through the stone circle or fighting what I assume is Shadow Striker, her wheels are on her shoulders. Wondering if she rescans an earth mode or they just move wherever she needs them? Wheels on the shoulder also lead me to believe there could be a different toy in the works

 

Alright, you got my interest and my ticket, so far. My first thought after seeing the trailer





YAYYYYYY!!!!!! We finally got a right sized Arcee for once, and we don't have to come up with like 7 fucking theories on how she mass converts/displaces this time. This time she looks double-ish (give or take) the size of a person and isn't massively looming over them like in Prime.

Besides that I want to see even more of the bots.

I am glad I am not the only one who was surprised the CGI looked so bad. I am praying that this is earlier footage or still being worked on footage. IDK how they could fuck it up and make it worse than BB, as I think they did a pretty good job there. My only reasoning why is because they have a much more massive roster of characters (maybe too many) and they didn't have enough budget or time to fully finish all the designs and make them look awesome.

This wasn't a concern before now, but it is now. When they said they were doing beast wars, they weren't supposed to use the same CGI. Jokes aside, if they don't fix it like Sonic, or at least touch it up quite a bit, it will 100% be a buzzkill for this movie.

All other things aside, I am still worried about the cast and roster size being too and they will bite off more than they can chew and rush through a lot of the story beats.

 

I'll be legitimately real with you, if this movie is on par with DOTM and AOE plotwise then Prime save us.

megatron a black armored robot with giant wings and not a single defined alt mode
and so on and so forth
but almost 10 years ago people suddenly couldnt help but scream at any tf that didnt look act or was colored exactly like their g1 counterpart

 

yeah, I agree with that. Also, I was under the impression that the maximal/predacon downgrade was based on being smaller robots, roughly human sized , adjustable for whatever animal alt forms were taken.

 

Unless I missed something, which is 100% possible, the only Barricade leak is for a toy. And toys don't confirm a presence in the movie.

Nightbird. Who, I'd like to point out, very much appears to have Arcee's lower legs from her BB design. Retooled CGI model maybe.

Yeah Bumblebee toyline had a Barricade too. But since this is the Seventh film. I hope Barry carries on the tradition of appearing in the odd numbered films.

In beast wars they were smaller to conserve energon, and just happened to be a good size for earth animals.

But this isn't beast wars, or G1.

I'm sure there will be elaboration on their characters personal decision to become animals. I theorize it has to do with something spiritual or the beauty of earth and why it's worth protecting, and they want to be part of it. Primal gives Ancient Wisdom vibes
