Very cool. Of course the beasts aren't natural sized. I felt awesome from Bumblebee's first trailer and feeling pretty good about this one.

A little funny primal's transformations is barely noticable.

 

I’m laughing my ass off right now at how bad the CGI is. I’m pretty sure a teenager can do better with a school computer. Hell, I’ve seen stuff on YT better than this.

Im thinking Mirage will have a significant role. Perhaps taking over for Bee?

 

CGI's a bit rough in places, but it's not that outrageous. That's par for the course of the usual blockbuster trailer before the next one looks better. WAY better than just leaving in the bloody greenscreen in TF4's trailer.




I'm still super damn excited to see this! Years of waiting and I feel greatly rewarded. I like Prime and Primal's look, but the latter is a bit on the tiny head side.

Arcee being the smallest is on par with everything else and I like everyone is distinct on the scale and colors.

I'm a little sad we don't see anything of the Predacons or Nightbird. Battletrap looks like he's on the side of the Terrorcons? I guess this is the Decepticon way of sowing chaos. I dig it.

Prime being in most of the shots makes me think this is the Prime movie the rumors have said, and I'm super happy for it.

 

That was a terrible song but good starting trailer. We don’t know too much and all we saw was the eye candy in the designs. Which is fine with me.

Yeah, that’s an aspect of the visuals that’s, ah, stuck in my mandibles more than almost anything else others have mentioned, silly as that sounds…..

I genuinely felt his look was incredibly solid in Bumblebee— It’s the most I’ve liked any Optimus Prime design in…. As long as I can remember.

I see no point in pitching a fit if that’s truly the design/proportions they wish to go with, but… Mmm. I’m holding out irrational hope for a final product which feels more….. Proportional. I really wish they’d kept to what we got in Bumblebee. This is…. The opposite of an improvement on that, loathe as I am to quibble over minor details.

 

Can't say I approve of all the f-bombs in the trailer.

 

I really like what I'm seeing here. Looking forward to seeing more.

 

What they're saying is they wish the Bay movies were more like G1 because it's impossible for some people to grasp that not everything has to align with a cartoon going on 40 years old that's been off the air more than 30 of those years.

None of this stuff is "confusing" if people stop trying to tie everything back to their preferred source material.

 

The designs look alright. Glad to see the Transformers emoting and talking. I'm sure we'll have a few that just spout actual gibberish and then explode (it's a given), but at least all the important people appear to be presented as having personality.

That being said, I don't really know what to expect from the movie. I don't really know what's going on, and not in an exciting way. Mystery is exciting when we are used to being pleasantly surprised. My brain says this looks just alright, but these movies have to be awesome to change people's expectations. Time will tell.

 

Okay, a bunch of random thoughts:

- I kind of get from a scale and aesthetic perspective why the Maximals all have giant, cybernetic, beast modes, yet it still feels kind of weird when I'm so used to them being smaller and, y'know, organic. But giant Cheetor was actually kind of cool.

- Optimus' face looks worse compared to the Bay films. It just makes me wish he kept his mouthplate on the whole time, especially with that design.

- Arcee looks amazing. Like you can genuinely see where she went from her Cybertronian design in Bumblebee to her Earth design here.

- Every time they have Peter Cullen's Optimus interacting with anyone but Gary Chalk as Optimus Primal, I feel bummed out. And I love Ron Perlman, don't get me wrong.

- Mirage just jacking Hounds' hologram powers.

- Prime has the arm cannon and energy blades of the Bay era again.

- What is it with bad guys and Bumblebee's throat? Is that Scourge?

- Primals' robot mode still has the Prime face and the dual sworlds like his pre-Transmetal self.

I was just answering your question. Yes, we've had name slaps, but what makes this different is that we finally get a main character who is a Porsche, and they go with a character who is an F1. Many have been waiting years for Porsche to give permission to use their license and product. All previous name slaps were on vehicles Hasbro already had permission to use for quite some time. So yea, I get why some are disappointed the first movie Porsche wasn't Jazz, CJ, or Stepper/Ricochet.
