I am generally optimistic about the movie so far. The designs are far better to me than what the Bayverse had (even if I have a personal nostalgia for them), far more easy to follow visually, both in general motion and when transforming. And it's hard to put into words, but the trailer doesn't show off much of the awkward energy the Bay films have going on constantly. The CGI is also pretty nice looking, some shots are a bit crap but I'm gonna chalk that up to the movie not being out for another 7ish months, so there's still some post-processing that needs to be done.

I think giving him a face is just to better emote. The movie is showing a lot of them.. walking around, of all things, which tells me that they're gonna do a lot of smaller character moments rather than just use the robots as fight fodder. I really hope they finally fucking talk in alt mode at the very least.

Damn I’m scared because someone who said he was at a test screening said he had a normal non-G1 face and the drawing done looked similar to this.

 

Yeah, that Mirage bit was chef’s kiss nice.

the vfx is worse then ever

 

It really is so much worse. Everything about this is such a downgrade from Bumblebee. It looks so low budget, and everyone is an obvious clone of some earlier design. Wheeljack is literally just Bumblebee with a different head. Mirage looks like Shatter. The CG is horseshit and the action doesn't even look good.

 

Oooh I’m hyped. Pearlman Primal sounds great probably due to it being a real movie production and not a machinama web series.

G1 bots look great. Beast bots look good too in design but I agree that they need more color.

Voice cast looks good, weird that Rhinox is voiced by Depthcharge’s voice actor but it’s nice to see a BW Legacy in the cast.

I feel positive about it, it can’t be worse than ROTF, AOE and TLK.

 

Good reviews mean more people will see it, meaning we’ll get more movies

 

I thought that was just prime, mirage, arcee and bee.

 

And in that year and a half a lot of work across many industries was impacted by delays. Just because it's coming out a year and a half late doesn't mean the work flow of the movie proceeded at their normal pace.

 

I know we're all hyped, but temper expectations based on this being TF Movie number....ugh...6?

The face itself is not a requirement for one to emote if one has eyes.

 

Primal looks a little plain, but he's got a chain mace that he swings and blades from his arms.

 

I don't think anyone did. Not sure why they felt he needed a face, especially one that's ugly as hell. The Bumblebee movie design was too good I guess and had to regress to be more "movie-styled".
