Parts formers worst toy ever! Stares at g1 prime, g1 screamer and g1 omega... Nvm...
His post might be overbearing but he has a point. The size reduced and the chest piece isn't rhat secured. It isn't the end of the world.
It's too small and there's silver/brown gunk all over it.
No, they don't. No one is treating it like the end of the world.
Okay, so buy the giant knock off I'm sure you'll buy. Case closed.
If there is one, I might, but not a giant one. Hopefully, most of these molds will at least get officially repainted as other characters, sans the tasteless "battle damage". If not, I'm sure a KO will offer better quality than Hasblo's current offerings, but that's besides the point.
except its not too small for what they are going for, its actually perfectly sized and most of the figures have some sort of battle damage, you dont stay clean in war unless you have a desk job. if you feel that these intentional design elements dont fit with the collection you are building then maybe siege just isnt for you.
I wouldn't say that the entire line isn't for me (there are figures in the line with little or no poorly applied paint), plus the "battle damage" paint doesn't really look like that. It really just looks like some small child attacked it with silver/brown paint.
from your perspective. "battle damage" can come in many forms, from literal damage to dirt and mud. did you never play outside as a kid?
I look at Starscream's battle damage paint as a result of mid-air explosions and strafing runs. I also think it looks awesome in most cases and takes absolutely nothing away from the figure's overall quality or the enjoyment of it.
I found SS and Soundwave at a Walmart. Almost bought them and cancelled my Pulse order...and then I noticed that SS was a first run without the pins. Guess I'll roll the dice with Pulse for now.
This is why this thread should be renamed and the news item should be retracted. People are passing up on stock for a rolling change that does not likely exist.
Well, that's not exactly true. It's not like I ran out and canceled my Pulse preorder over it. But if there is a running change, I'd rather gamble for one as opposed to absolutely purchasing one that doesn't have the pins.
I contacted Hasbro support recently about the pins for Starscream and I have pasted their response below.
Thank you for contacting Hasbro Consumer Care regarding the Transformers Generations War for Cybertron Voyager WFC-S24 Starscream Figure. We appreciate your interest in the Transformers product line.
The WFC-S24 Starscream figure that you're asking about is part of a new Transformers line and is currently available for pre-order on HasbroPulse.com, as well as other major retailers. The messaging states that orders will start shipping around April 1, 2019, so it's possible that some consumers who have pre-ordered their Starscream figure are already receiving their shipments.
Regarding the Starscream figures you might have purchased, there are no currently plans to replace figures that did not have the pins, as that was part of the original design of the figure. We do frequently consider consumer feedback when designing all of our products, so it is entirely possible that our design teams considered our fan base when creating the latest version of Starscream. However, the Starscreams that did not have the pins were not actually missing them as official parts.
Jordan, I hope this information was helpful. Please let me know if you have any further questions and I thank you again for reaching out and sharing your interest.

Thanks for making the effort to see what they have to say about it. Much appreciated.
So based on this response, does that mean that there will be SS's with pins in the future? It's kind of ambiguous--- they basically say that if you got a SS without pins, it's not an error.
Yea they don't really answer for the future, kinda sad they won't do anything for the older ones.
There is nothing for them to do. The design doesn't have pins, so there is no error.
The gray piece the chest attaches to has nubs and not holes, which means no pins were supposed to be there. The holes in the chest piece are to allow the nubs to attach, much like mushroom and ball joint tension vents, and unfortunately it isn't a tight connection.
I highly doubt there is or will be a running change with Starscream. I'd love to be wrong, and will gladly admit so if actual proof surfaces outside of one random suspicious post on another site. If anything, Thundercracker and Skywarp may have pins, but we don't know and won't for a while.
The silver lining to the detachable chest piece is that someone could hypothetically create a replacement part for people like me who don't really care for the ultra G1 look of the chest.
I'm not so sure that there is a lot of mud on Cybertron. However, when I played outside,I didn't take my TFs with me, lest they look like the Starscream here.
For those wishing to fix their own SS figures:
(He mentions the "nubs" being there, like the Hasbro rep).
