This one includes a pin through the chest connection. Not much else to report. Unconfirmed as of time of writing.

Huh, and people were just saying how that’d make a good running change.

Hopefully that’s the version that shows up in Canada.

Now the question becomes: As someone who can’t find them in stores, how would I know which version has the pin and which doesn't?

Sounds like the first batch without the pinned chest was an error, especially with people saying he had obvious holes for pins. Just a mistake that they didn't get around to that step in assembly.

Well, hopefully if he ever shows up in stores here it'll be this version.

You can transform him without the canopy section popping off.

I always wonder how the thought process for these running changes goes like.

Like, how do they determine what needs a running change and when they should release said running changes?

Hopefully they’ll raise awareness of this change ASAP. A lot of my trusted toy reviewers (peaugh, emgo316, etc.) got plagued with pinless copies of Starscream...

Yeah, but it’s apparently really easy for the canopy section to pop off...

The canopy chest section is usually out of the way of moving parts so when I transform my Starscream usually it stays on, when it pops off it's usually just one hinge. Depends on how rough you are when transforming imo. Good change tho

I can. But I’d vastly prefer one with a pin, which is what they should've done in the first place and are now realizing.

Also, being the weird person I am, knowing that there is a version with a pin would make me sad if I got one that didn’t have it.

EDIT: I may have found a solution: Wait and see what Takara does. Maybe their Screamers all have pins considering they come out in April.

I'm not sure there really is a running change. The pin seems to be sticking out a bit too far.
    Has anyone else reported this?

It does seem a little sloppily done for a mass market product. I’m thinking one somebody modded but decided they didn’t want? Considering this wave has just barely started showing up its way too early for a running change.

Gonna call this one a hoax.

Looking at SS in hand, the orange canopy piece has a groove in the top for a pin to slide straight through. The red plastic would have to be altered slightly to allow this. I have a feeling if Hasbro/Takara did pin the chest, they would alter the red plastic a bit and use one long pin across the whole chest.
    (Like this home-modded one)

    An improvement I guess.

Although customs will be harder to do now.

I'm just gonna sit here and wait for any form of confirmation that this is an official running change and not a modded and returned figure.

Just looked at the pics again, and it looks like there's drilling residue on the inner support beam the pin would go into.
Also, the pins stick out way too far compared to what stock pins do, so I'm calling shenanigans.
