If so then F*** Yeah! I love me some Stan Winston dinosaurs! NEW JP TOYLINE PLANNED FOR JUNE 2009? - JPToys - News
maybe its stuff that was planned for the movie that got cancelled after Crighton died. but if thats not the case we'll find out soon enough wont we lol
Crichton passing had nothing to do with JP4 being put on hold. All reports say the script was about a special ops team training genetically mutated dinosaurs. I've been wanting to get the original JP T Rex. I'm sure it's no where near as awsome as it was when I was a kid but still. I've been buying the Papo dinosaurs to fill my needs. Papo Dinosaurs Toys Models, Replicas, Collectibles
I like how he put in the effort to type JP/// instead of JP3 so it would look like the claw logo. Anyway,I'll probably get a couple. If nothing else,my GF will want them, she only has 1 or 2 of the older figures,so even if they're repaints she'll probably want them.
Whoa! I hope we get the large T-Rex and Spinosaur! I missed out on alot of the original toy dinos during the movies.
In 2008 I was receiving shipments of Jurassic Park stuff at KB Toys. I didn't know it had "gone away" before that.
I worked at KB too,and IIRC the most recent offering was 4 (?) different sets of a human figure vs. a dino. Definately dimetrodon, and I think velociraptor, stegosaurus, and triceratops. My memory's hazy, though. that was like four or five years ago,I don't remember anything past that.
I hope its not the Bull T-rex. Not for nothing, but it was always an very bulky T-rex figure and only had 2 moving arms and a bendable tail. I'd honestly rather see them re-release the Thrasher in the original JP 1 T-Rex colors since I never got a chance to buy that particular T-rex, and also it is probably the most detailed and movie accurate sculpt of all the JP T-rex figures. I mean heck, an original Thrasher can now go for well above $70. I remember when it retailed for $30. If they don't re-release the Thrasher, then I'll definitely settle for the original JP T-Rex figure. Roars and stomping sounds and all. Then again, the other question is what if this is an entirely new T-Rex figure? For 60 Euros, this thing sounds to be bigger than anything they've made so far.
If it was a Thrasher re-release I'd be over the moon. I always wanted it as a kid and ended up with the Spino :<
I ended up with every single one BUT the Thrasher. Seriously. All those Christmas's and Birthdays I'd say "Not Bull, "Thrasher" T-Rex." "Not Spino, Thrasher." I was even at ToysRus back in '97 and said to my my "See! This one!" I wanted to buy it right then and there but she wouldn't let me. The Thrasher still eludes me to this day. *shakes fist*
I wish I still had my Thrasher. I played with it so much it fell apart and I had to throw it away. It'd be cool if it were re-released.
Needless to say i will have to get thehm if they're nicer molds. The script wasnt about mutated dinos, that was the first script that was scrapped. The newer one was about a disease wiping out dinosaurs and one fo the past charecters going and investigating it. Don't remember what site it was but im sure its still up somewhere.
Sorry, I'm not really excited yet. Hasbro has been making JP toys for some time after the third movie's line, mostly recolors of figures from JP/// (lol) and some older basic molds like the JP Dimetrodon, baby T. rex, "cyclops" raptor, and TLW Triceratops. And more than one line, no less. Like Kickback said... CamoXtreme JP Dinosaurs 2 JP Dinosaurs 3 The CamoXtreme Canyon T-Rex marks the single Jurassic Park toy purchase I've made since the early days of The Lost World, which brings back great memories and slightly makes up for missing out on EVERY SINGLE other T-Rex from a JP toyline. Original Grant's hatchling doesn't count. But I digress! The thing about the last three JP toylines are that they mainly appeared in only one store chain in the US - one that no longer exists! Without KB Toys to carry them, either Hasbro could stop producing the line, or...? That's right, shop it around to other chains! I'm not saying that this rumored June toyline is just more Jurassic Park Dinosaurs crammed down our throats, but it's a possibility that needs to be out there lest everyone gets their hopes up.
I just hope that if this line is repaints of older figures, then its repaints of figures that were rare or have never been repainted before. I'm sick of all this reused JP 3 crap. For this, give us a repainted electronic Gallimimus and Baryonyx from JP Series 2 instead. And also maybe some TLW electronic dinosaurs like the velociraptor and the "non-crocodile" spinosaurus. For this, give us some of the other old Kenner dinosaurs like the Lycaenops, Tanystropheus, Scutosaurus, Estemmenosuchus, Celophysis x 2, the basic sized pterranodon, and the TLW Baryonxy and Ornithosuchus. For the humans, give us some JP Series 2 guys like Alan in the capture gear, Sgt. "T-Rex" Turner, "Harpoon" Harrison, "Jaws" Jackson, and the dino hunters like Skinner and Dr. Snare. Even including the rare humans from TLW would be nice. Nick Van Owen with the camera, Peter Ludlow, Ajay Sidhu to name a few. I have a strong feeling this is going to be those stupid JP 3 mini dinosaurs again. Instead, why not give us some 6-packs of all the little Dino hatchlings that used to come with all the Kenner Human figures? I just hope this is either something entirely new or the original JP electronic T-Rex. The Bull T-Rex has been dome enough already. Though, I would kill for a TLW Thrasher T-Rex released in the original JP T-Rex colors and even better if he comes packed with 2 velociraptor figures painted like they were in the original JP as well.
I hope this rumor turns out that the alleged Jurassic Park 4 concept got as far as the toy-making stage, and that the toy companies have to do something with the molds they already created. For those who didn't know, JP4 was apparently going to feature genetically-engineered dinosaurs who can attach missiles and laser cannons and stuff. Laugh if you want, but the script was apparently so well written that this idea could actually be taken seriously. Do a Google search for reviews of this script, and you'll find that it's generally positive. Seems like the movie had a lot of twists and turns. Alas, the actual script has not leaked to my knowledge. A lot of people derided this idea, but I thought it was awesome 100% of the way through. I enjoy cheese as much as anyone else, and I see no downside to a multi-million dollar movie about cyborg dinosaurs. Hell, I enjoy multi-dozen dollar movies about the same concept on the Sci-Fi Channel.
laser cannon?.. sounds like dinoriders lol i do hope they release this prototype colour.. d 1st T rex is red.. only god knows why
