Tested it myself and it works like a charm.

I did find a pink eraser but I only had one tiny girly piece...

ANYWAY, tried it with a white Staedler one:

As you can see the paint sticks to the eraser bits like a charm.

I decided to go further with the eraser and erase the two tone faded window look.

The windshield. You can see a huge different between the faded part and the one I worked on.

First window is clear now. The second window to show you how it works. It smudges at first then after some work it becomes clear.

    Pretty fucking damn good.

Have you found that pink or white works better, and by extension, have you preferred soft ones or hard ones?

... this thread isn't about dildos, I swear.

    Both work for me.

I'd go for the cheaper one if I knew which one was cheaper.

Hmm, I'm gonna try it on my Jazz right now & post about what happens.

Edit - White eraser's not doing shit. Like it works, but its taking forever for me, especially on areas that have a lot of paint, such as RTS Jazz's hood. Seems like it'd work a lot better for me if I was scrubbing with something harder, as it wouldn't fall apart as easily.

It took me maybe 15-20 minutes to do one side of Alternator Skids. :D

    Here's another use for it.

How would to fix this paint app error?

Thank rumble619 for sharing the Pink eraser tip.

Here's to show the before and after result for the stupid faded windows on Alt Skids.

Notice how clearer and crisper the letters are behind the one I worked on vs the stock one.

I suspect this might even remove discolouration due to smoke. I have one I got from a friend who's yellow teeth ex smoked like a chimney.

I did some further tests with my white staedler eraser.

I can't erase every single paint app.

No luck getting through with the light blue but it did erase the white clearly and easily off.

Different result here. Nothing. it just removed clear that was used.

Again a different result here. It did remove it but it was clearly harder to remove. It took out more eraser than paints apps.

I suspect different eraser composition will work with different paint apps. I can't wait for rumble619 to tell us which brand of pink eraser he uses for different paint apps.

Here's a blog for some girl's eraser collection.

EraserGirl » Blog Archive » old booksellers trick – erase, eraser, erasing, erasure

If I remember correctly, the ruby and union erasers have some texture on them.

    Pink pearl perhaps?

With my white staedler, you can clearly tell if it will work if the paint app sticks to the eraser bits.

It doesn't seem to matter as long as the eraser can erase pencil, it will work on paint.

:::goes out and buys some erasers:::

I think I might try the black pearl. My work has a plethora of them and they seem to be a harder composition that might last longer. Gonna try a few to see what works best. That is an ingenious trick.

Ha ha I'm glad you posted this bud!!!! I've been meaning to do it myself but keep forgetting about it. I'm also glad that you're getting some use out of this trick. It really does come in handy.

As far as what kind I use.....I've only ever used good ol' #2 pencil erasers and ones similar to the pink pearl in your pic (not sure of the name brand). My dad grabs them from work for me and they have no name on them.I've never had any problems removing any paint app with them that I've wanted gone. I'm not saying that they will work on all apps because I've never tried them on anything other than what I needed done.I guess I'll sit down and experiment a little now.

Yeah...I prefer this when I don't want the app but I also don't want to paint the plastic.

Pretty sure it's the tampo'ed paint apps that are easiest to erase.
