WTF?? I really don't have anything to say about this. This is just weird. Is this just a return fail or just extra Hasbro stock Target bought up?
Hmm... if it was a return, it shouldn't have gotten back to the shelf since that DPCI was clearanced out long ago. It would have been caught at the returns counter. Actually, the customer probably wouldn't have been able to return it. It looks more like something someone found, either in the stockroom or hidden under a shelf, and just stuck in the appropriate place without running it under a scanner first. Had you tried to buy it, you probably wouldn't have been able to.
I personally never saw AA Strafe, Deep Dive, Grapple, or Lugnut at any local Target. At this time, it would probably be discounted.
That is most definitely a Target shelf label with a target price reduction tag. On topic, it is kind of weird to see him sitting there. I remember finding Animated Jetfire/Jetstorm at TRU about a year and a half after they came out. Had to have been a return since I visit that store every week after they get their truck.
What probably happened is whats happening with a lot of Star Wars figures in my local target. A scumbag is taking a UPC from a recent figure & putting it on an old one. My local target has 3 Star Wars figures from a few years ago when the cards were shaped like Clone troopers/Stormtroopers. Looking at the UPC in the bubble (carefully cut open) is the UPC of the recent vintage figures. So whoever it is has these old figures sitting around & returns it with the vintage syle figure's receipt.
Guys... just because a store doesn't get a toy due to distribution doesn't mean that the DPCI isn't in their system. In fact, they likely had gotten the DCPIs months before RTS were released since they obviously carried them, but just didn't get distributed the voyagers. Someone could've simply bought it from a Ross/Max/Marshalls, and returned it to Target non-receipt for more in store credit than they would've gotten back for a return (19.99 vs. 9.99). So, it would scan in the system just fine, and they can even go print out shelf tags with the correct price and item listing if they want to with their PDAs, but were too lazy to (which makes sense, since it's only one on the shelf, and whoever restocked it probably didn't know much about TFs and seperate lines). Anyways guys... basically, this isn't "mind=blown" worthy. Same thing would've happened with any other store, possibly even a Walmart if they had the item numbers in their system.
It was the same at my local Target. I have ordered Strafe and Lugnut from HTS. I have won Grapple from Ebay and waiting for it to arrive.
