Read the article! http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/04/20/activision-planning-transformers-character-dlc/ The original MTV Multiplayer article by Stephen Totilo himself. The Article: "Activision Planning ‘Transformers’ Character DLC Posted by Stephen Totilo on 4/20/09 at 10:00 am. In the near future, gamers accustomed to buying extra “Guitar Hero” songs and new “Call of Duty” maps will be able to download additional Robots In Disguise. During a demo for Activision’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” last week in New York City, I couldn’t help but express my desire to play as Transformers others than the ones I was being shown. I’m in luck. The upcoming multi-platform game based on the big “Transformers” movie sequel, won’t just offer players a variety of Autobots and Decepticons to control. It will offer gamers the ability to download more. An Activision representative told me that the company has a “healthy DLC [downloadable content] plan which will incorporate more characters.” This is part of Activision’s intent to offer the largest Transformer character ever seen in a game based on the franchise. I didn’t ask, but it is likely that many of these new characters would be offered as paid DLC rather than as free. That’s been the business model employed successfully by Activision and other publishers for new content in “Guitar Hero,” “Rock Band,” “Halo” and more. The Activision rep wouldn’t tell me which characters from which era of the toy line’s history would be available — nor, I realize now, did I clarify if the DLC was for the PS3/360 version only or also for the Wii, PC and portable versions – but that’s where the guessing can come in. So if you’re not a fan of Michael Bay’s “Transformers,” maybe it’s time to start wondering: how much would you pay for (idle speculation here…) classic Megatron or your most favorite Headmaster?"
'it even ruined the 2004 PS2 game based on the "Armada" series, which part of me knew was excellent, but other parts reviled because it starred the "wrong" Optimus Prime.' I stopped reading and started facepalming there. Really, this is just rumor, right? Theres no concrete stuff other than 'planning to do X and Y'
So it's going to be a crappy game on which you have to spend even MORE money on to get more characters, instead of content that's actually worth the price? Haha, yeahno.
So, he goes on to say Armada Prime is the "wrong" Prime, and then uses a picture at the start of his article showcasing lots of "wrong" Primes. LUL I wouldn't say you're an asshole buddy, just a moron. And yeah just to add : It doesn't matter what characters you add to the game if the game ends up being shit in the first place. We shall see.
Added MTV Multilplayer Article, the original the Kotaku article is going off of and ALOT more friendly. It confirms Activision has a comfortable schedule to release DLC for the ROTF game but they will not comment on whether or not the DLC will be ROTF characters or characters from other TF series.
this game keeps getting better and better, seeing i can spend those useless microsoft points of mine.....
