Tough call. If you get the add on for Superion, that's the way to go. If not, Starscream would be the choice.

Superion. Intended for Classics > ROTF redo of toy that's great already, IMO.

    Get Starscream.

Superion, like all the Energon Combiners, is a pile of crap. Not to mention the mold used for Silverbolt has to be the worst of the three core robots from the E. Combiners and has many an issue with stability which I doubt Hasbro bothered to fix for a limited exclusive run.

SS, on the other hand, is an excellent piece of engineering and a step up from the first movie's SS. The only reason to pass on this guy is if you intend to wait for the Leader Class version that will be coming out sometime next year that is supposed to be even more accurate than this one.

Er, no. Based on the reports from Botcon... Dirge is going to be an all new mold and a deluxe to boot. Not an SS repaint.

Both are good toys, but Superion is probably going to be harder to find later, especially with the appendage set (whenever that's coming out...) driving up demand for it.

I'd go with with Superion and get the FP add-ons to make the limbs look good.

ROTF Starscream looks nice, but I would wait on that until the leader class version comes out.

I'm going with Superion b/c I've want an Autobot combiner to balance out the E. Devestator G1 repaint... also, movie SS figures suck IMHO. I can't stand the widebody design.

    Stop right there.

Classics Devastator is amazing, and I've heard that Bruticus is an awesome toy too.

Sorry. Should have put my opinion in there (actually thought I did). But, yeah, I wasn't thrilled with them. Good ideas, but poorly executed IMO. Cool if you like them though.

Starscream is almost certainly the more impressively engineered toy. Sure, there will be eventually be the Leader Starscream mold, but that won't change how fantastic the new voyager is. Voyager is in some ways a better scale for setting it up with various other figures.

The Superion set probably seems like more toy value with the multiple jet transformers.

I would say go for Starscream, on account of its general awesomeness. The only reservation I'd have is if you think you will want Superion, this may be your last chance at the mold. They'll probably retire it after this. Whereas any new Starscream mold inevitably has a long repaint life ahead of it.

I just bought Superion and was surprised that a old mold suffered from Quality Control problem. Paint color on the wrong place and 3/5 of the team have loose balljoint.

Is there any way to fix the loose balljoint? I can't return it for another one because I got it from a Toy Shop who import and they didn't give the receipt.

You mean like I pull out the little wings off his legs (black colored Aerialbot), insert small piece of toilet paper and insert the wing back?

The other one is a little more complicated... the brown colored Aerialbot, the one with those gun vison in robot mode... well his gun visor always fully fall and hide his eyes/face and I just want it diagonally like shown on the box.

Starscream is an absolutely awesome version of this character and I highly recommend you purchase him when you get the chance.

However, as already posted, get Superion first because he will be tougher to find later on.
