Here is my ROTF Deluxe Sideways Custom repaint. Fits I would like to point out that Hasbro decided to make him "Not an Audi R8." What I mean is that he resembles one but there are some slight differences. First off, His car mode is too long. Also the exhaust pipes are in the wrong place and there are not hood vents on the real thing. With that being said there are a few things I did to make him resemble an Audi R8. The black paint under the head and tail lights and the engine detail. Which was fun 'cuz I had to paint it in reverse so it would visible from the other side. Sideways' bot is typical for a Movie custom, black base coat with silver dry brush. Some of his parts are supposed to be more reflective so there is some contrast. Overall I like this guy but I think hs get robbed in the armament department. Seriously what is he gonna do with a circular saw blade? Let hope its diamond tipped! I would like to repaint the car body, but I would need an airbrush to do it justice.
Looks great! I like the details you did to make the Audi mode more accurate. Good job on all the paint! As for the saw, maybe he's a carpenter!
Very nice! I cannot wait to repaint mine. Did you take him apart to paint just the robot parts? Also, you did the same thing I did in bot mode before I noticed I did it wrong. The back kibble needs to be lowered. There are two tabs that will hold it in a lower position.
Oh OK, I though I had seen the 2 tabs, but couldn't figure it out. The only things I really removed were his arms and the headlights, just the stuff that snaps off.
Yes, I typically don't spray primer deluxe class TFs as they aren't really worth the trouble of masking or disassembling. I just laid down Flat black (Tamiya Acrylic) on all his bot parts and Dry brushed Flat Aluminum over top. With his shin guards and thighs I did a couple of light silver coats.
Yeah, I would love to get a scaled decal to put on this guy's hood. I doubt my brush skills are up to the task of free handing it.
