    The pipes on my Sideswipe extend when I lock the back panel down on the piece behind his head. I thought that was the gimmick.

    mine are loose to and i think theyre supposed to be like that. extend out as exhaust in car mode and retract to keep em out of the way in bot mode

    I think I see what you mean. In alt mode the pipes are tilted downwards a bit. So I guess it's just letting gravity keep the pipes out.

    Looking on the inside of the pipes I was thinking that there was supposed to be springs or something to keep the pipes out regardless of the angle the car's in.

    nah i think im right. Peaugh said it in his review aswell (not saying hes always right but hes not often wrong)

    ya i was confused on this to when i transformed him
    mines not loose it the pipes pop out for me when i push them down behind his head and retract back in when i pull it out...maybe the gimick is semi functional for most??? or they just tossed the idea away midway through or somthing its pretty sweet to see it work....

    i dont think they took out anything. what we got is what they intended
