So, I have 2 Sideswipes, my first one, I decided to add a lil different paint setup, coloring in the logo, adding some more paint detail on the stomach section, lower legs and painted the struts behind legs silver.

Oh the other one, I had repainted him more of a G1 color scheme. Painted most of the head black, and the body of the vehicle obviously red with some other touch up spots here and there.

Ya know...I knew I was missing something from that group picture! I even meant to have RR Swipe in that pic, and to probably repaint him a lil.

Very tempting...however I have had some bad experiences with paint, and that softer plastic like the Robot Heroes are made of. Paint doesn't adhere properly, and it remains tacky forever. Kinda like when I repainted a Acid Storm into a Thundercracker. His nosecone always stayed tacky. But the legends one may be doable.

Also, I did manage to work up both of my Sideways' as well. I painted my first one a lil more movie accurate, to have the black hood and roof with the silver stripes off the audi symbol. I have to clean it up a bit more though. Plus I pretty much repainted all the red sections on his body, as we have seen in the CGI still...he doesn't have any red on his actual body, only his grills of alt mode. As for the other one, I just added some more red stripes to go with his red body!

Have you tried using acrylics? I've found they work much better on softer plastics than enamels. I've painted a few Robot Heroes using Testor's Model Masters and Folk Art acrylic paints and haven't had an issue with them drying just fine.

These all look very cool! Great work! :thumb

They look good. Sideswipe is my favorite deluxe so far. But can Sunstreaker get some love?

I think my silver chrome, which is the one I use because of how shiney it gets, is a Model Masters...though it may be an enamel...I do have an acrylic silver, which I suppose I can try.

I suppose I could buy another one and paint it yellow...but I don't know how easily I can mod the head. Great...I like Swipe so much I have to buy every version of him...and x3 Deluxes if I do the Streaker!

Damn those 'swipes look awesome, great job! Same thing with the Sideways. The one with the red stripes make me think of some sort of emergency vehicle, dunno why.

Btw, just asking, but how easy it would be to detach Sideswipes wheels? Since i'm thinking of buying him and Swerve and changing the tyres between them.

Actually haven't a clue on that. I don't normally disassemble them to paint, just have to be very very careful!

Thinking back a couple posts...allow me a preview to a request...a work in progress...

    Mr Streaker...if you please.

Your new sunstreaker wip looks awesome! I'm debating on if I wanna just paint one up myself or ask you to sell me that one!

AucepsPrime--> I think they made a little one, but I'm not sure. I'll have to check around. Good call though, I didn't even think about that one.

Ah, so you like that version of the yellow? I had a yellow which was called Zinc Chromite. Which has a very minor green tint to it. I figured, try it out and see what it looked like. Because I use that same color for my Star Wars costume Boba Fett for some damages.

Well, everyone will be happy to know, I got a chance to work on them a lil more this weekend...including RH Sideswipe, and Legends Sideswipe!!

For some strange reason, RH Swipe didn't like the acrylic paint either, had trouble getting it to adhere to it. Eventually I did what I could.

Sunstreaker, I did a second coat on the paint, and now it looks sweet. Added some more black paint to give him a lil better look.

Sideswipe, I added a second coat, added some white to it, however, that white paint, seemed to be almost empty, so I couldn't do the arms, or test it on Sunstreaker.

Legends Swipe..I forgot to take shots...

You have skills at this. :)  Now you can have variants on different figures that others couldn't have, unless they did the same thing. Just using a sharpie to fix a small dot on my Wheeljack was stressful enough for me. I couldn't imagine doing all that work like you've done. lol I suck at painting.

Have you ever considered doing customs and then selling them?
