Hmm.. Nice colour scheme, but somehow I prefer his older colours..

 

I like this color scheme a lot more than the original's.

No idea, but he still has the peg holes on his back. I guess we'll have to wait until we see his bio.

Well, on Voyager Grindor's packaging, the mini-scorpion toy (that has pretty much the same colors as this deluxe repaint) is called Scorponok. So either it's the same character, or the original really was a drone of some type and this is just another one with different colors.

 

I know that, but if they didn't want him to connect with Grindor they could have just filled the holes.

I hate to say it, but for some reason I think I may get this guy. I am just waiting for a G1 repaint so this thing can be seen in all it's ugliness.

 

Grindor is Blackout, this has been confirmed by one of the people working on the game. It was a codename to keep the surprise intact that Blackout would return along with Megatron.

 

I like the new colours-it makes him look menacing.

 

It can't be a codename. Both the Voyager and FAB toy repaints are labeled as Grindor.

 

The robot mode looks better in those colours, but the scorpion mode looks worse. (I've always been of the opinion that the scorpion was the robot mode and that there was an alt mode to that -- hence the writing all over him in TF1). I shall get this if I can't get myself the original version.

 

Looks good! I was gonna paint mine similar to this for a movie-verse Scorp (renegade), but no need now! good looks on the gobots homages hastak! keep 'em comin!  

 

Easy pass, wasn't crazy about this one in the fisrt movie.

 

Isn't the black repaint a homage to Black Megazarak AKA Dark Scorponok?

 

It's a black zarak of sorts. I'll buy it because I have enjoyed the mold.

Now we all have to buy it. The ROTF figures with ridiculous alt modes or gobots recolors are must haves for reasons that are unnessary to explain.
