I have to say after reading some spoilers I'm guessing the production team rushed to getting this film done. At first, I was under the impression that they were keeping this mammoth of a blockbuster on information lock down because it was going to be almost perfect, but not the case.
-No barricade? this sucks, but It will be hard to get use to.
-Bonecrusher appears, but just to vehicle, kind of nice seeing him again
The biggest reason I think it was rushed is because of SW, not having a robot mode, and barricade's absence. I don't like plot holes at all, but w/ Bay, I guess I can't do much about it.
what do you think, was it rushed due to writers strike? ( I do. )

I have not even seen this movie, and I still have high hopes. You need to have seen the movie before you can make a decision on wheather it is rushed or not.

Given the writers strike and the fact that it was churned out in less than 2 years it's very clear that it was pretty rushed.

Yep. I've always thought so. They didn't even start filming until last August, and it's only just now been finished - right before the release. I think 2010 would've been a much better aim, especially now that we're hearing there's even reused animation and bots that are on screen for all of a few seconds.

I know Bay likes to boast about his fast filming style and all, but eh, it just leads to the wonderful shots like Mikaela obscured by random shit in the foreground for no reason during that Wheelie scene.

Why is the excuse for both of the two movies was that it was rushed.

How about THEY DONT F#%@ING CARE.

They say hey the average fan is just dumb enough to think its BAD ASS and EPIC if we get some ILM robots on the screen that have the same name as the characters just blow S@#$ up. Then the movie comes out and regardless of how bad the story is or any of the characters are they still go home with a huge deposit in their bank account.

The did not get Sound Wave in the movie because they never wanted to, not because it was rushed. How hard is it to give him a robot mode even in space. If they wanted too they could have had him in this entire film front to back they CHOSE not to.

More than likely Hasbro demanded Sound Wave be in this one and Bay had to write him in. They know if they say they at least have Sound Wave in the film that means more of a chance people are going to go to see the film for him in it. While technically not lying its completely misleading. Btw if we cant even get barricade to make a return whats the chance that Bay wouldn't even include Sound Wave in part 3.

It really seems Bay makes choices that leave little reasoning behind them other than them being a big middle finger to the fans of those characters.

Well, ROTF had some hurdles to overcome like the Writer's Strike. The Special Effects were not rushed but if not for the Strike we might have gotten a different character or two or had bigger roles for characters like Arcee and Soundwave and also less robot-cloning. But overall, it didn't rush it enough to make this movie necessarily bad.

haven't seen the movie but onthe subject of the movie possibly being rushed, i think George Lucas put it best :

"Movies are never Finished only abandoned" Directors would always love to add more to there work but at some point then know they have to stop or be forced to stop by deadlines or the guys with the $$$

Some of us have - so it is a legitimate question (I agree that a spoiler warning should be given though).

Is all you do bitch when it comes to the movies? This wasn't meant to be a shakespearean masterpiece. It's a fucking summer action movie, not "Lord of the Rings".

If you don't like Bay or the movies why go into movie threads and constantly flame the things?

Alright, I need to say this. Maybe some of those things wil be different in the IMAX version. Maybe we'll see Soundwave & Bonecrusher in robot mode & Barricade in the IMAX version. Did anybody bother to think about that?
