Introducing...ROTF Optimus Prime. I just have to add that Prime looks at least 3 times better in real life somehow. All the shades, hues and colour blends. In anycase, feel free to comment/criticize. It's never an issue. Enjoy!
You tease me with one blurry pic! I thought we were pals! Looks like you got the blue eyes figured out eh? It looks great from what I can see!
Well, I just hope that I don't disappoint myself. About the LEDs, I snipped of the crappy lights and used plastic fusion to connect the led to the wires. Didnt want to experiment with my soldering kit at this point. I then enlarged a hole at the base of the neck to fit the led properly, shaved some plastic off below the neck holder. Did some shaving within the head too so that everything fits well. Worked like a charm
Plastic fusion? Isnt that a type of glue? How does that work on electronics?? Now im confused So you didnt just replace the old LED bulb with a blue one you added in a whole new unit correct?
Ahaah! Truck mode is almost done. Here's an update. Wheelie's kinda small though as compared to Prime...Poor poor scale for a monster truck..
Great skills there ! but....I wonder how this will fit Prime....it looks very 'disco-ish'. ( thinks of 'hotel California' / the Eagles ) Maybe I'll have to see the final repaint, minus flash light photography.
'Disco-ish'? I believe the word u are looking for is Metallic.. haha.. The actual colour is slightly darker.
Looks great. I like the fading yellow to red, i see you added it onto the rear wheel arches which isnt movie accurate but it still looks nice. The flames could use some work though i think, apart from them though this is great. Wheelie looks nice too. I still cant get over his size though. He should have been a scout at the most but oh well, thats hasbro for ya. BTW did you get my PM and could you answer my above question about the LED please?
I love this. The Yellow>Orange>Red actually makes it look more accurate to me. Also, yeah, Wheelie is an actual toy RC truck, so he's obscenely out of scale with Prime.
Heya. Sorry! I'll try to respond it here. For the leds, I use plastic fusion to bond the wires and leds. Pretty simple. Twirl the excess wires after removing the original led and use fusion to bond them together. For the clear, did you use the actual thinner for it?? I hope it wasnt water or something. I NEVER use water for any of my work. I also dun use sandpaper usless I make a serious mistake. The compounds are sandpaper. Cream based sandpaper...kinda. Hope that helps yeah!
