when finished, he will be 90% movie accurate. the 10% being details I can't
paint, details the mold is missing and or kibble (which is usual), and the chrome
of the truck mode (which will be silver).

I still have to do some work to the bot mode, and the rig mode needs the silver
(would be chrome parts) painted, and a few other details I will add later..

I know a few have already done a Prime, so here is my hat thrown in.

Very nice!!! I can't wait untill mines finished. What did you use to make the red look so shiny and what brand of paint did you use?

I am actually using a few brands of acrylics....
Testors & Folk Art, I use a Testors Model Masters Acryl clear over all the
Folk Art paints, it makes it glossy & seals it as well, the red is coated with
acrylic stop signal red to give it shine, metal flake & to darken it a little

mainly I use the Folk Art because it's cheaper & available in a lot of places
the down side is you have to coat it to keep it from coming off, and because
most of it is flat paint, but it does come out decent. I painted my Mirage in
some metallic blue folk art paint, and he came out nicely.

I'm a fan of Folk Art's metallic paints. Sure they're cheap, but they give it that nice shiny, metallic sheen.

Looking good man! You removed his blades? I still haven't cracked mine out of the box yet. I'm debating on whether or not to completely repaint him and lose the flames in the process.....I just know I can give him a better look by doing so, but at the same time I'll be losing the flames. Err, can't make up my mind!!!

I removed the blades because they limited the articulation of the arms. I am going to
try to make a way for them to fit over the fist via an attachment of some sort, just
haven't figured that out yet or got that far. beides Primes weapons are hidden and
transform or slide out, he don't have them just hanging there, I wanted to make him
more accurate so I removed them.

I saw a CGI pic of Prime in the DK movie universe book. Primes swords slide out of his arm. Some art I've seem make it seem as if it replaces his hand.

right, that is why I am going to make something to slide over his fist, kind of
like the Universe Ironhide / Ratchet weapon does, that has the sword sticking
off the end. that way he still has the blades, but they don't show when not
    in use.

Hey for the chrome on the front you could lay down some black over the bumper then dry brush it with silver to give it some pop.
    Great job on your figure:)

    Looks fantastic!

My only recommendation: Paint the edges/backs of any parts that are supposed to be opaque on his chest windows and doors. Make sure no light passes through. Really "solids" him up. And don't forget the bit where the articulated window visors connect. The clear plastic there also lets in light behind the window paint.

Gray/silver/top color applied in that order does a very nice job.

I was going to paint the windows a semi transparent blue,
and the clear edges had been on my mind to do, would make
him more dramatic and realer to the eye. there are still many
paint aps I have to make so I will keep working on him, I just have
to look at the movie again and find good bot pics from stills and
    promo pics.
