Is anyone else noticing a lot of stress marks on their ROTF Leader Prime's backpack? (the blue backpack, not the red backpack)

I've only transformed it a few times total (Robot ->truck ->robot ->truck-> robot)... I'm hoping this isn't a widespread problem and it's just mine that's super tight...

And does anyone have any suggestions for fixing it? I can't get a blade in there (It's where the visible "wing" things connect to the part that connects to the part that makes the top of the truck) to scrape away some of the plastic...

I got one of those two. The thing to remember is that those side panels attached to the top of the cab are meant to both rotate on the posts as well as slide on those posts so is has enough clearance when forming the backpack and pegging in. I don't have a camera handy at the moment, but I hope that's clear enough.

I hadn't seen your post and started a thread about it; I also have the stress marks and NEVER have transformed him. I thought it was just mine, I think it has to do with the rotating panels being pushed in too much at the factory and the blue panel having that tab that holds it in place, when we go to unlock it to move it we have to pull on it to get it free.
I would like to know if a lot of people are having this problem, and if it is on both panels, just to know if I should try and return it and get another one.
Another thing mine has is that the right blue panel is not properly inserted in the hole, in other words the blue panel pivot point is inserted too far into the other panel.
Hopefully we get some sort of confirmation that this are isolated cases and not widespread, as it would be a shame on an otherwise great figure.

Yeah, I have those too, around the pegs that connect both pieces. I also have stress marks on those pegs on the chest pieces. It's such a good figure too!

I also have the stressmarks... when handling the "wing", I just do it VERY carefully. :D

Stress mark? Hell yes! That was the first thing I noticed right out of package, and got me worried sick til' I noticed that the mushroom peg should be pushed almost all the way out to provide sufficient clearance for the blue flaps to sit flat without flexing.

If you're doing it right the folded backpack will sit flat and peg in tightly onto itself. This seems to help with the stress marks where the mushroom pegs are joined with the blue flaps.

If anyone need pics I'll try to snap some tomorrow (it's 1a.m. overe here now, zzz...)

    Pics as promised!

Introducing ze culprits rezponsible for strezmarks on Phrime's backpack - ze evaal marshruum pegz!

See those stressmarks? Those were caused by the pegged on panel (with the tanks) bending in order to contort to the backpack folding. And trust me you'll never get it sitting flush like this. And yes, those were there right out of package. The RAGE!!!!

Zooming back to one auf ze culprits, moaaaar stressmarks :banghead:

To properly tranzform him, make sure the marshruum pegz are pushed all ze way into ze panel's peg hole
Which could be pretty tight/scary at first, and takes testicular fortitude to do so without breaking 'em.

Not too sure? This should help ^ if you've transformed him correctly, his backpack should sit flush when folded.

Hope this helped in one way or another, cheerz! :thumbs2:

The thing to remember about ROTF Prime is that practically EVERYTHING pegs into place somewhere, and in many cases in more than one place. His backpack wings peg in four places: the mushroom peg that slides in and out, a rectangular and circular tab toward the inside that keeps the wings at the right angle, and two more at the bottom of the assembly that keeps everything folded flat onto itself (honestly I think there are more than four tabs on the backpack, they're all over the place, but you get the point). Keep that in mind when transforming the backpack. You want to keep everything parallel as you unpeg it because otherwise the mushroom joint will get pulled at an angle, causing stress to the plastic.

That said, I've been transforming him very carefully and I still have some minor stress marks, but I don't think it's anything to worry about. According to someone in the feedback forum, blowing a hairdryer on the stress marks for a minute or so causes them to disappear.

Do you have the first movie Prime? What I do, since ROTF takes forever to transform, is keep the first movie Prime in alt mode, and ROTF in Robot mode. It works, and no fear of breaking reither while Transforming!
