What you see now is pretty much finished. The only thing left to do is to touch up the handle; but that's being covered by Optimus's hand. I'll take photos of the gun out of his hand later. But for now, enjoy the finished-as-far-as-you-knowness. Open up his forearms by removing the screws. The swords come free very easily with absolutely no breaking or bending.

I thought about Sharpies, but they taper slightly, which makes things complicated. The white plastic part of these Crayola markers are completely straight, so it makes attaching and aligning pieces to it very easy. The only part that tapers is the cap, but it's only attached to the gun at the bottom, and has a grey piece at the tip, so the taper itself isn't even touched.
This ones pretty neat too. Should look great once its done. Make sure you make two though so you can pose him in style awesome bullet-time god-like awesomeness.
Pffft. Nah. It would be cool and all, but I like to think of Prime as a 1-gun-man. I mean, I'm gonna love the 2-gun scenes in ROTF, don't get me wrong. But for display purposes, I think he looks more bad ass with one gun.
Awesome! And the good thing is that when Optimus is done shooting Decepticons, the gun is washable too!

I used the Voyager Class's weapons, though heavily painted, and they look good. But now that I see this thread, the still of Optimus in the factory, and the design art...I will use the guns as a base, but modify them heavily to make it all look film accurate.
That's a great idea man. looks solid too. My only question now is.. where the h3k are the guns supposed to come out from. I would like to see how Optimus stores those in the movie. It was kinda funny how every bot could just pull a gun out of his @ss in TF1, now prime's got two. Where does the other one go ?
