Here's finished megatron guys. You need to attach all images as outlined in the Radicons Guideline - Radicon Staff Murderarm was made from the existing canon arm scraps. Beefed up gimp arm was used with parts from random plastic scraps (most from megatron himself) Head was widened by taking the head apart and re-aranging the head fins No alt mode pics as, I haven't figured out where to put the murderarm in tank mode, (so right now it's a tank with a giant claw haha)
The rust effects are great! Very convincing work, you're gonna make me beak down and buy Leader megs yet!
I like it! Man, I don't have enough $$ to buy megs right nowwwwuuhh!!! Please don't make me wanna buy this woth ýour awesomeness of a custom.. Please? Damn it, I really really want this figure now.. That head fin mod rocks, makes him look more meanacing. Add that to the book of megs mods along with some others I'm.... Borrowing.... Ok fine, I'm theivin 'em!
Totally cool with me bro, Megatron deserves it Any advice though? I'm satisfied with it, but i feel there should be something else done.
Yeah dude, you gotta share! I already removed the shoulder pieces and he already looks better and less hunchback. Tried unscrewing the head pieces but i can't figure out how you shifted the parts to widen his head.
I got as far as taking his head apart but couldnt remove the left side due to the plastic cylinder. A tutorial would be awesome!
i can't take the head apart now since i've super glued it tightly, but I'll try my best to explain without showing pics of the begining stages. First just unscrew the head, the "face" of the figure should be able to slide out now, leaving only the fins attached to the body. Then unscrew the body (LOTS of screws in the back so make sure you have a spot for all of them) After you unscrew them all, split the figure in half by pulling the torso, now the original neckpost and the head fins attached to it should be able to be pulled out. Then unscrew the fins from the neckpost so that they are free, get rid of the neck post, you won't be needing it anymore. Now glue the fins to the side of the face...like this. After this you should find a neck post ball joint and put it in the chest cavity of megatron where the original neck post was. ANY ball joint will work, but I used Protoform Starscreams waist ball joint. Just to give an idea of how mine works, here's a shot of the ball post and catcher joint. As you can see i pretty much just glued the catcher ball to the screw ports from the fins, I'm sure there's a better way to do it, but this works fine. I hope that helps you guys who are trying for a better megatron. You need to attach all images as outlined in the Radicons Guideline - Radicon Staff
Same as before, just with a crab claw instead of a turret. Still working on how to get the turret back onto it.
The head is meant to tilt all the way upwards for the alt mode though, so if you add a ball joint then how does his head tilt up far enough?
Yep, it's just his head tilted up, I took those shoulderpieces that covered up his face off. So its a tank with a crab claw and a yelling megatron sticking out of the front haha.
Hmm guess i won't be doing the head fin mod then. I'd rather keep the lightbulb in the head and also be able to screw in everything properly. Still a nice mod and i like the look, but i'm not willing to sacrifice all that for a better looking head.
