Here is my take on the LC Prime mold. I love this toy, i think its one of the best Primes ever created and i loved working on it so much that as soon as i finished this one i started on another which is going to be even more movie accurate and have metallic paint! Im classing that as a "Masterpece" version as it has some unique features and added extras and it will also be on ebay, so consider this a teaser of whats to come. As for this one, nothing really special to say about it. Paint is automotive solids with 2-k lacquer to protect it. Flames were made by hand using masking tape and a pencil and a scalpel (the ones on my MP version are more movie accurate), and the pinstripes were also done by hand using enamel paint. Robot mode was painted with silver car paint and then given light shading here and there with black paint and after that some extensive weathering for added realism. Chrome parts were painted with Alclad. Anyway enough of the boring chit-chat, take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks for looking! See you with V.2!
Painting the flames is a BITCH huh?? Very nice looking and well done work. The hands look a little big for my taste, but overall excellent job on one of the harder figures to paint.
They are 1/60 scale hands from a Gundam kit...Exia i believe. Thanks for the compliment. Hehe, yeah sort of ive done it so many times now through practice runs that i have a knack down and can practically do it in my sleep, but yeah first try was a pain in the butt. I also think the hands are a tad too big but for my MP version i'll have a different set thats being made for me which will hopefully be a bit more to scale. Thanks for the comment!
You should, find a cheap used one on here and buy it and just practice. You never know what you can do until you try. Thanks for the comment. Thankyou, its funny i wasnt pleased with the blacked out windows, but the ones on my MP version are far more to my liking so i cant wait to show it to everyone.
Yep, the detail overall and flames look incredible on this guy, it's obvious a LOT of painstaking work went into this...because this is NOT an easy figure to work on for sure, not to mention transform!
The most overdone custom on this site and yet I never tire of it, especially when prime looks as good as he does here. Great job.
Thank you! Thanks, yeah it took me a while thats for sure, my next one has taken even longer but it makes this one look like a 3 year old painted it. Thanks a lot! V2 should be done in the next couple of weeks...im just waiting on some extras. Yep, but im the same way i love seeing customs of this toy. Thanks for the compliment! (love your avatar btw!) Its not the fact that i painted them black that bothers me but the finish of them, if you look carefully theres little bits of dust and crap in the paint which to me makes it look sloppy, and im OCD so its even worse. V2 has fixed this however. Thanks for the comment!
mind blowing awesome, great to see this my friend, and im really looking for to v2 and magnus complete, the attention to detail is fantastic, very very good matey all the best colin
Thanks im glad you like him, but yeah my newest one makes this look like an epileptic gorilla painted it lol.
