When you transform Jetfire to vehicle mode where do you put those straps used to help hold Jetfire to Prime in combined mode just before you fold the legs to the body in jet mode?

They don't really lock in anywhere - you're supposed to join them together further down the body of the plane, IIRC, with the other components fitting around / on top of them. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow if someone else doesn't leap in in the meantime.

You have to somehow fold the straps next to the big box on his bottom and then connect the two pieces together (there are hinges on those two plastic pieces allowing you to connect them bur still have the straps aligned to the sides of the box).

I find it hard to do that, it always seems you can't quite connect the pieces (a bit too short), but last time I managed to do it. Still, you shouldn't worry about it too much, as soon as you fold the legs in they stop the straps from falling down anyway.

Can you do that alittle early? Like now. I'm at the part that I have his legs tucked in already.

I prefer folding the legs with the straps along the inside of the legs along his body. I dont bother clipping them together cause they stay out of the way quite well without clipping them.

Here's how I have the straps on ROTF Jetfire:

I fold the part with the hinge and it rests fine in this location

I moved the connector piece so you can see how I have the strap behind the leg

This is how I get the straps to stay off of the ground which makes the alt mode look better.

I do mine like Seawing's picture shows. That works fine. Those things were really not well thought out for the non-combined modes on Jetfire.

I agree, and the whole "strap" concept seemed like a copout to me or something. So much design effort went into everything else regarding combing these two great figs, why couldn't they simply connect together? A rubber strap? How long before that thing dry rots? I do love the overall concept and am happy with it as a whole, but that part just seemed to fall a bit short.
