I changed the leg-to-torso ratio proportions : makes it inaccurate to the original Skids toy, but more true to Kup's G1 proportions. Pic in original post.
Very nice design. You managed to make him look like a new character, yet he retains the idea of the original Kup character. Very nice!
True... but the original pic of Ice cream Skids & Mudflap is only 500 x 500, so I had to exaggerate the effect a bit, otherwise the rust would just look like brownish pixel blobs. Upscaling would have made the whole bot pic way too blurry.
I think the rust is an awesome touch. You turned Derp into an old geezer! Wait, it's Derp=Skids Herp=Mudflap right?
Obviously without the toy in hand, it'd be hard to tell, but it almost looks like, with sufficient kitbashing, you could turn the Skids component into a convincing pickup truck.
Heres an Idea for the back of the ice cream truck. Another old bot called Hegg (Hegg and Kup...egg cup...getit?) unfortunatly this would make them comedy characters again (like herp and derp) but more with the personalitys of Statler and Waldorf from the muppets

Thanx ! The proces is pretty simple actually ; just goto a site such as cgtextures.com and add them onto the base layer and set the texture layer to multiply Most of the 'work' goes into blending sections, seamlessly into eachother. I hope I can add the altmode soon if I find some time for it.
hm... I was thinking, instead of this "Cold Rod" you could have done something inspired by Energon Bulkhead... that's what I would've done.
Well, I chose (Hot) Rod because Kup and him basically formed a tag team on their way to Autobot city in the 1986 movie ; thus imo, they had a strong bond in the story.
