complete tosh, id rather start buying animated
Don't know what planet you lived on then, but the first Movie line was hysterically successful. The line warmed the shelves after the movie had been long-gone from cinemas and stores overstocked.
Yay, one more step towards this becoming a live action A/E/C take-off. Now all we need is a bunch of whiny pre-teens, announced transformations/combinations and boring main characters and we'll be set.
A large portion of the G1 cast was made up of combiners.
Let's hope Delaserbendour is the real name too. Oooh and spoons the second.
some people don't let silly things like proven facts get in the way of incessant whining and bitching.
Looks like a good AUTOBOT, I really like that Cybertronian symbol on the packaging.
combination retrofit so is that an autobot promotion?
I like the bit about getting noticed in battle.. sounds like they are all going to be in the climatic battle.
ok so far. when will we see the bigger 'bots. can't wait to see and get a hold on the combiners.
I think the point missed here is the Combiner piece is no longer special.
This is just another corner cut to make the movie verse easier to explain. Which personally I feels cheapen the movie even more.
The problem here is the people behind these Ideas feel as sentient robots made with magical energy they can just do anything at any time. So if that were true wouldnt they have annihilated both factions by now after eons of fighting. Techincally they can all combine from what this news says so maybe they would have all combined into one large robot each and blew each other away.
Maybe the rest of you dont care to see it but the movie is really becomiing cheap. They cheapen every aspect and cut so many corners just to make it easy to make. Essentially they are trying to shoot the damn thing as quick as possible and write the scripts quick as possible to just try and push out a movie that they know has worldwide appeal regardless of the staff shooting it. The real fan work is done by ILM.
It would be nice to see some limitations with the movie Transformers or possibly how about some more human like qualities which is what makes almost all TF's a TF.
I wonder when this figure will be available to purchase?
To me it sounds like combining is a new technology with certain pros and cons.
Kind of like G1!(at least in the comics).
i found out this time Hasbro did all Robot mode in packaging....
Or gun-jumping, apparently.
I'm not a fan of the combiner gimmick, and it seems like that's the way this is leaning.
-G1 didn't abuse the combiner trick like A/E/C did.
-With the new movie, Jetfire and Prime may combine, Arcee might combine, this new figure 'wants' to combine, Devastator may be in it... this all may lead to gimmick abuse like in A/E/C.
That's all I was saying. I guess I should have spelled it out a bit more clearly.
You came up with that entire rant based on two words on the back of a movie figure box for a character that probably won't even be in the movie?
We've seen almost nothing substantially about what the movie is going to look like, such as completed scenes etc, and you feel it's been cheapened? Have you seen clips that the rest of us haven't seen yet? Last I checked, the first movie didn't look even remotely cheap. Bay doesn't let ILM do everything. He is a huge fan of blowing stuff up on set, and he did quite a bit of it for the first movie. Hell, he blew a damn car into the side of a building by accident trying to get an explosion filmed. That was the funniest part of the behind the scenes stuff.
We don't even know for sure what the bio on Knock Out's packaging is even talking about when it says "combination retrofit". Blame Hasbro for this anyways, it's there toy.
Well I guess It's ok if you don't like combining. Just don't act like it being "abused" is anything new.
How many G1 battles started with two combiner teams showing up. Combing right away. Throwing a few punchs/firing a few shots and then running away?
Hopefully we'll get pics of the other two in package soon.
Quite frankly, those were the episodes I found incredibly boring. I grew up with G1 and never found a liking for the combiner gimmick for some reason.
As for the abuse factor, I can see it being used a lot in an on-going series, but in a 2-2.5 hour movie, it could get old real fast.
Separate names with a comma.
