ROFT has some scenes shot with the IMAX camera kinda like The Dark Knight that utalize the entire IMAX screen. just curious whos going to make it out to see it in IMAX.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any of the scenes in Dark Knight were shot utilizing the IMAX camera. They brought it to IMAX, but it wasn't filmed FOR IMAX. ROTF, on the other hand, had 3 (I think that's what Bay said) scenes especially filmed w/ the IMAX camera, so as to fully utilize the entire IMAX screen. One of the scenes include Devastator
Really? I remember hearing no. Guess that was mis-info. Never remember hearing anywhere where dark Knight used an IMAX camera to film.
If you've seen Dark Night on blu ray you'll know which scenes they are....the only ones at 1.78:1 ratio that fill a wide screen properly.
The Dark Knight to Feature a Mix of 35MM Camera Shots and IMAX Camera Shots Wow. My bad guys, totally had no faith. Can't wait to see ROTF in IMAX though. I've never seen a movie where all or certain parts were made especially for the format. Exciting! I saw Star Trek in IMAX, and whil entertaining; I wished it was filmed for it.
Well, Baltimore only seems to have an IMAX in the Maryland Science Center and the only movies they've ever shown outside of their own were probably Journey to the Center of the Earth and soon, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Unless I can find another IMAX Screen outside the Science Center, within my range (not someplace like Virginia), I highly doubt I will.
I will be seeing it MINIMUM 3 times in IMAX. Once with large group of friends on opening day. Once with a smaller group of friends (those who couldn't make it opening day) Once with my Mom, who is a TF fan (It's her fault I got into TF's as a kid!) She saw, and enjoyed the first movie, and really wants to see this one in theaters. Only thing she didn't like about the first movie was Jazz dying. Jazz was always one of her favorites in G1.
I wonder if the Opry Mills mall in Nashville will have it? That is one nice mall and theater. Have a few drinks at Dave & Busters and then watch Transformers!
Hey buddy, We've had IMAX @ Whitmarsh Mall since November. I plan on watching it there the night it comes out. I've never seen a movie there, but I've heard the picture quality is great. It's a big screen, slightly higher than most screens, but nothing like what you would find at the Science Center. I can't wait to check it out!
Do you mean to tell me, that I could've seen TRANSFORMERS back in 2007, in Whitemarsh Mall? The lack of knowledge of my own city, shocks me. Well, at least I know Metromix wasn't confused when they listed it with an IMAX showing of Star Trek. Hope is renewed! Thanks, dude. [Facepalm]. I'm going to tell my parents, now. *Runs off*
I suggest watching it FIRST TIME at a regular cinema, get all happy about the movie. Then afterwards go 2 IMAX, so u can be amazed TWICE!!! (by teh amazing screen and also the extra scenes will be a fun extra!
I want to see it on IMAX the day it comes out. That'll be awesome. There's one only 15 min. from me so I'm covered.
Forgot to tell you, White Marsh has IMAX also. So its either there or Columbia. I live in Baltimore area too bro - Gwynn Oak. I always go to AMC Columbia cause they have crowded people, the theatre look nice, and doesn't smell like piss!
I will absolutely try and watch it in IMAX, just the once though. Will probably end up going to the regular cinema once or twice as well.
Alaska isn't getting it's IMAX until next year....... Alaska is late with EVERYTHING!!! Except snow . . . but thanks to climate change, last winter was actually tardy too . . . But like with the first one, I'll go see it multiple times, to experience it with friends and family. When Scorponok gored the soldier during the desert scenes, my uncle jumped and exclaimed "Oh Shit!!" Which received some chuckles in the audience.
I'd LOVE to see ROTF on IMAX, but the theater (West Edmonton Mall!!) where my IMAX is, doesn't seem to do regular theatrical movies... so I'm going to have to see it Digital... >:[ I REEEEEALLY wanted to see it in IMAX...
