I was sitting here going over some notes I had written for customs and watching tv when the ROTF trailer spot came one and it occurred to me that this will be here soon. Like next week soon, with the craze starting with the figures.

And it dawned on me that there will more than likely be a surge in ROTF customs. Do you guys think it will be hundreds of each character? And how could this effect Radicons if at all? Will it be nice to see everyone different take on a figure or yawn at another repaint that's been done?

I think we have a diverse enough community of kitbashers with new ones coming all the time to keep it fresh and appealing.

And I will be jumping all around with my custom I want to dabble into some Beast Wars stuff. Just wondering if anyone else has thought of the same and if they are going to be strictly ROTF for a while due to the figures being readily available or otherwise?

Personally, im gonna try and repaint every single main ROTF toy into a more accurate to the cgi movie render because i just love painting all those tiny little details and doing the characters' toys justice since we all know hasbro cant paint a decent toy for shit. Plus theres so many awesome new molds, the best being prime imo, that i think it would be just outright fun to customize them and make them look even better with nice shiny hyper-detailed paint jobs! I know i had a ton of fun detailing and customizing all the toys from the last movie...shame i never took any pics of them.

It might get a bit monotomus after a while seeing the same BB or Sideswipe mold repainted but like you said this place is full of innovators so for every 3 boring repaints they'll be at least one really exciting and awesome one.

I think a lot of people are going to try their hands at making a true Devastator [transformable individual figures that can combine] bigger than the legends size.

Other than that one, I'm sticking close to the Classics...reminds me more of the G1 styles than any other line.

I know I'm gonna be busy on these when I can be. I'm tackling prime first! Probably won't be the first out, but I'm damned sure that everyone will be happy with what I plan on. Then there's the rest of the cast. This summers gonna be fuuuun. :D

that's the project I"m most excited for...(actually already started to a point)
We will get a flux of new people, prolly see 4,5, even more pages of customs on ebay soon. I can't wait, I'm excited.

There will of course be monotonous "movie accurate" by Joe's Customs, Steve's Customs, etc.... (and I'll join in too)
...but I am excited to do beyond that, bring out the real potential in these figs.

Surely you didn't throw them out, did you? Were they commissions or something? cause you mentioned yesterday you just found out one can "make money with customs"....maybe you can find them and take some pics for us, eh?

Accurate Devy is what i hope to do. As for the others, maybe find a way to combine Skids and Mudflap into their rumored "bigger Bot" form

I first got into customs AND collecting when the first movie came out. Ever since I saw repainted movie figures, I had to try that. It even made me get figures that I hated just to make better like Movie Swidle and Wreckage. I can't wait to get these. This August will be 2 years since I started painting. August 30th to be exact. And it's this year that I actually started modding and bashing figures not just repainting them.

Before that, I had no idea this kind of thing existed.

Looking forward for sure! There's a lot of potential in them that needs to be pursued. :thumb

It will also give me motivation to wrap up a few TFTM figures lying around in various states of completion.:rolleyes2

I may have a crack at a ROTF style Devs, Giant scale is not really my thing but the figures are creative and interesting. Figuring out a ROTF Superion is another large scale project on the slate (Devastator needs someone to fight up at eye level)

Sideswipe to Tracks is my first ROTF bash planned(I know, nothing too groundbreaking, ...or??:sly: )

*Looks at uncompleted and dismantled 2007 Prime*

Yeah he is now at one with the Matrix.:lol

I am definitely looking forward to the Devastator Gestalts. But honestly what I am most excited about is the minimal mods and heavy mods like the Leader Megatron arm joint F_R and Tony are doing. I like these as opposed to the repainting of the figure.

oh! another thing is to make a movie defensor, seeing how we're getting Blazemaster and the cycle sisters, we can use those for blades and groove. we can use stockade for first aid, bb or barricade for streetwise. but then again, i can't think of a bot for Hot spot:redface2:

The first pulse of customs is what got me started in the first place so I am looking forward to all the new members contributions. Not so looking forward to all the cookie cutters tho, seems like lots will do the same thing as other big names(Saw it happen with Jin a lot last movie) just to make a quick buck and it just results in tons of lame auctions most of the time. I will be doing tons of repaints though with other modifications and whatnot. Should be a nice summer.

New movie figures aren't affecting me any. In fact, it'll help me get along with all my WIPs both made into threads and not.

I won't be big on collecting the new movie line, so much more of my budget can be spent on supplies and paint. I'll be getting a lot more Classics/Universe/Henkei figures out because of this movie and it's toyline.

Getting my own Ptitvastator out is currently the priority. Then there's Arcee, Combaticons, maybe some Stunticons, and a surprise or two. It'll be good times.

You're in the same boat as me, or was anyway. Before the first movie came out i was making model airplanes and painting and customizing them, then TFTM came out and i got hooked on Transformers all over again and some buddies of mine asked if i could repaint a few of their toys which being the good friend i am i did as i found it fun. Didnt ask for anything in return I figured what goes around comes around. And i wasnt one to take pictures of my work then as i saw no point. Then recently i was told about places like this and here i am. Didnt know anybody else did this kinda stuff either.

F_R, i forgot to multiquote, but theres your answer. :)

ah, i just never heard of doing a custom and not taking a picture, especially when you have the camera and all. Maybe next time you're at your buddies houses you can snap a few? I'm interested in seeing some of your work.

One thing I want to try eventualy, is try to take the move Constructicons, and make them combine. Not how they do in the movie though. I was thinking about combining them in a more G1 fashion. Now I've never seen the figs in person, since I don't have connections and I'm not paying $75 for a deluxe (ever, for any reason) like they were going for on ebay, so I don't know if it's even a possability, just something I was thinking of. I'd love to hear what some of you who have gotten a few or all of these guys think about it.

Rampage should be in your stores already. I know he's all over the place here in Jersey (and this state's usually the last to get them)
