Thanks, Tuan, I hope you're right! If it's not, I'll just have to keep going :)

Thanks! The head no longer transforms. But the voyager Mixmaster that becomes the "neck" still transforms to vehicle mode (not robot though).

    12-20-12 update

My work's going to be shut down from tomorrow through the New Year. Since I probably won't be posting any pics until then, I thought I'd take some of Devastator all combined. It was tough getting him to stand, especially on his back two legs. I'm probably going to use flight stands to help prop him up at work...
He now has vortex pieces behind the top of his face. I also removed some Legos from his tongue so it's not as long, and I did some more clean up last night.
Last night I was all ready to paint him, but after sleeping on it I plan to do a little more work before then...

    2-19-13 update

Since my last update, I did a little work on the vortex panels, using twist ties to hold the bottom ones in place while the mouth opens and closes. I also covered up some of the Apoxie Sculpt behind the head with a part from an old toy. I can't remember what it was called, I got it as a gift from my mom. And I did a little more trimming of excess on the Mixmaster arms.

I noticed a couple parts in the CGI pics that looked just like Armada Megatron's feet (see the yellow circles in the attached pic). So I took off Meg's feet and put them on Devastator's head :)

    April 8, 2013 update

I worked on covering up some Apoxie Sculpt. I decided to use another supreme Mixmaster vortex piece to put on the back of the head to represent the big hole/vortex thing on the CGI model's back. This is reverse from the actual model where Mixmaster's cab is above the hole, but I figured it worked so well for this custom...

I also did some more work on the tongue, including adding some parts from some deluxe RotF Rampages to the bottom of it in an attempt to duplicate the big pistons under Devastator's neck. (Thanks to And Hibbs for the Rampages!)

Finally, I decided to rework the panel pieces on top of Devastator's head and clip off the stock "ears" as I start working on making the sides of his face look more CGI accurate...

Thanks guys! Here are some pics of my latest work. I've started adding detail around his head. I'm also including a pic from Moy that I'm using as a guide so far...

Yeah, I know! All that time working on the inside and the structure, but now it's finally starting to look like what I envisioned earlier. It's exciting :)

    7-26-13 update

I was hoping this would be my last post of main construction before the first paint job, but I've had to work on some structural issues behind the face...

Otherwise, I have since added some more parts around the face and moved the pistons on his tongue to a more favorable position. Hopefully I'll be able to start painting him soon...

BTW, my daughter wanted to get in one of the pics :)

    First Paint Job

Spent some time painting the head. He's far enough along for me to start displaying him, so now I'm sticking him in my custom rotation. When he comes up, I plan to spend a session or two doing more modding and then another session or two painting more detailing on the head and the other Constructicons...
