After wanting to sell my Night Ops Ratchet I've been looking at the ROTF Deluxe.
All I want to know is, how big is he next to DOTM Bumblebee? I know
ROTF Deluxe's are bigger, but I need a proper sense of scale before I decide to buy him.

    Pictures would be appreciated.

^In the last few minutes of DOTM, Ratchet looks almost as tall as Bumblebee.
I think this version will go good with the rest.

I have the G1 repaint only, but he is decently tall. Not the most accurate mold, but it's fun and posable.

Will prefer the movie Ratchet to be of the Voyager size

That looks about right, Bumblebee being 18 feet tall and Ratchet being 20 feet tall.

IMO the voyager version still looks better but the weapons are er, lame. He needs a gun of sorts.

I go back and forth between these Ratchets. The RotF one is certainly packed with movie-accurate details, but his hip panels are rubbish, the spring in his arm is far too strong (and unnecessary anyway) so he can't wield his weapon, and the vehicle mode is just awful. He just isn't a lot of fun when you pick him up, pose him, or transform him.

As for the DotM one, while it's a shame that he's so short, his weapon is inaccurate but FUN, he's an absolute joy to play with, and IMO his colors are a great improvement.

Yea, I grabbed the ROTF one on a whim, and was considering the DOTM one since the truck mode is a lot better, and after seeing the side-by-side almost wish I had seeing the color differences. But at the end of the day, despite its many flaws, I still like the Voyager mold best. Have the Original, Premium, and Target DOTM recolor of it. Worst part for me is the legs, but they are hidden behind Deluxe bots anyway.

I like the movie 1 voyager. With mine I added the saw blade from my deluxe Leadfoot and the gun from the deluxe Ratchet, best of both worlds I say.

If they had made a scout version of Bumblebee, he would have been about the right height for deluxe Ratchet, deluxe Ironhide, and voyager Battle Blades Optimus Prime.

That version of Ratchet is actually a bit tall, but it's not too bad. Scale isn't the main concern for tf designers, but it's nice when they get close to accurate.

Deluxe Bumblebee is about right for scale with ROTF leader Optimus, so he's not anywhere near close to scale with deluxe Ratchet.

But then, the movies didn't stick to scale completely and some characters were taller based on what scene they were in, depending on what looked good. :lol

If you do keep that deluxe Ratchet, there are a lot of easy mods you can do to make the figure better.

In that guide is an easy way to make the alt mode look better, just by switching the feet and transforming it differently.

    Here's the original.

    Here's the better version.

It hides the feet and lets the arms not stick out as much.

As for whether the ROTF or the DOTM version is better, I like them both. The ROTF version looks a bit better in bot mode, but is mostly a shellformer, and the DOTM version has a bit better colors (especially if you haven't painted the head on the ROTF version).

Is that scale accurate? Ironhide looks a little small to me.

Yep. I just edited the ROTF official scale guide to show them closer together.

But like I said, the movies made some characters taller depending on whether it looked good in a scene.
