RotF deluxe Brawl; couple dumb questions

are we sure the shoulders tab in properly this time around? I know genzhao's Stolen Chinese Toy instance of the figure was a fixed one, but we've seen fixes vanish from figures between pre-release and what's on the shelves, so... figure I'd ask before I buy and get an annoying suprise.

People have picked up the release version, and have reported tight shoulder pegs. Tight enough that they won't let go, even.

I bought one just to check it out. I don't know if it is a breakage hazard, but the pegs have been modified to snap in nicely. Big improvement over the original 2007 release.

onward to the next stupid question; anyone know if the automorph gears are still made of clear(weak) plastic?

Yes. When you push down on the chest, the front tank treads flip upwards. Not sure about the gears being weak. My original Brawl is tucked away somewhere. Never had problem with the automorph though.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Weird too because I was just playing with Brawl the other day.

The automorphs with wow factor are the ones I usually remember. Ironhides legs, Sideways wheels and stomach panel.

I've always like deluxe and leader brawl alot. Always thought they were underrated.

The gears in mine were all either broken or cracked, out of the package. I was able to fix them all with superglue, but I really shouldn't have had to. Those gears really should have been put on the same sprue as some of the joint pieces that were made out of acetal plastic. That stuff was designed for engineering purposes, like gears.

yeah my original Brawl had broken gears right out of the package. I superglued them, but they broke again, but this time one of the broken parts went missing.

Despite this, and despite the shoulder problem, I still think it's one of the best deluxe molds from the movie line. When the automorph works, it's incredible, and both bot and alt mode are fantastic. It's one of those TFs that's overloaded with weaponry.

I'd be tempted to rebuy it if they've altered the mold to take care of the problems, but those colours are terrible.

yes yes, but about this year's repaint of the figure, it's gears, not the previous movie line's versions. :p  I -know- the previous versions all had that problem with clear plastic used for the gears, which was inherently fragile. I want to know about the version that's out -now-.
