Prime versus Megatron Comics Continuum TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN MOVIE PREQUEL: DEFIANCE #4 Written by Chris Mowry, art by Dan Khanna and Andrew Griffith, covers by Josh Nizzi and Alex Milne. The explosive conclustion to the official prequel to this summer's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film! With their forces united, the Decepticon army prepares to leave Cybertron on a mission of galactic conquest. But the Autobots and their leader, Optimus Prime, plan to do the unthinkable in order to defeat the increasingly-powerful Megatron.
That looks pretty sweet! Its nice getting a look at megatron's new form. Hard to tell if he's really gonna be in the movie though, maybe he gets killed off again in the comic, or maybe its a form prior to the first movie. Anyways, nice find!
Well I know comic covers don't mean too much but as you can see Megs is fighting an Earth-mode Prime. I dunno I am curious about all of this
Awesome cover! Im anxiously awaiting my copy of Defiance #1 which should be here today.... except for the fact that the mail doesnt run today
This really does NOT make any sense. If this is a prequel to ROTF how can it be that Megatron looks "reformatted"? He has the Tank thing, the mangled hand and he looks more buff. Not only that, but he was a Cybertronian Jet, that was his only mode. I dont get it. How can he NOT be in the movie and be part of such a HUGE Defiance comic thing? Eck ... damn you Micheal Bay!
I am awaiting this issue greatly, I recently finished the first 2 Prequals and need to get these 2...good thing they come out on the same day.
you know its covers like this that make me feel better about the movie but then i remember how the first movie made the megs prime rivalry such an after thought and i get discouraged again. BTW didnt anyone tell Josh Nizzi that Megs isnt coming back ? Maybe Bays memo got out late. That is an awesome cover and this version of movie megs is just a million times better than the first movie's
the defiance-story-line works BEFORE the first movie-prequels! only alliance is a real ROTF-prequel defiance tells a story on cybertron where megatron was a friend of prime as lord highproector megatron, and prime was the chiefscientist. ironhide and starscream where brothers in arms too, and ratchet was the personal medic of starscream
so what i wonder is that if defiance is sort of a prequel to both movies then why is prime seen here in earth mode. unless this cover is more just for show and not evident of whats seen inside hm still..its a beautiful piece of movie art
Defiance is meant to be a prequel to everything, set long before the war, it seems. Other than his covers for issue 1 of Alliance and Defiance respectively, Josh Nizzi's covers for both Alliance and Defiance don't seem to be meant to depict the events inside the book. They're meant to attract customers by using designs and concepts from the actual ROTF movie. That's why Nizzi's cover for issue 2 of Alliance has Ironhide standing behind members of NEST, a group that hasn't yet appeared in the comic, why issue 3's Bumblebee cover has him in his ROTF design with Sam & Mikeala in their ROTF costumes, and why the ROTF Megatron design appears on the Defiance covers. Judging by Alex Milne's comments about not being able to depict Soundwave in full in Alliance, we probably won't see any actual ROTF designs and characters appear in the comics, outside of their silhouettes.
