Ah, so that's how they solve the 2 Bludgeon toys ' problem' ..and it ties in with the new Jungle Ironhide as well, bio-wise. Seems to me the skull mask is there to hide his face..maybe because it's damaged too severe? How much bigger is the tank mode compared to his previous alt mode, though? I know it shouldn't matter, and it's just to sell more toys, but ah well... And hey, Global Alliance?...
...So the title of the line will soon be, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: N.E.S.T. Global Alliance". Oy.
I just might cannibalize a MOTU Skeletor (a 2000 one of course) for a better face... other then that, he's perfect. It seems his treads will be rubbery and can split - wonder if they are functional too? One question to WW2 nuts out there: I heard he's based on a real-life Japanese tank. Can you name which or post pics?
Line refresh, to make the line seem fresh (because it is new toys) with a new subtitle. Pretty much all of the TF main lines for the past 10 years have done this. eg. Cybertron->Primus Unleashed; Armada->The Unicron Battles;Beast Machines->Battle for the Sparks But Bludgeon is bright orange
I am disappointed. I thought this was supposed to be a Classics type figure but the head really isn't that good. The bio is really pathetic too. He sounds like such a pansy. Anyway it isn't a horrible figure and is better than most of the ROTF toys but still just not what I was hoping for.
I'm all over this guy. I hope a lot of people don't like him just to make it that much easier to find.
No, they're like Demolishor's and Rampage's treads in that they're rubber treaded but not working. The Japanese Type 90 Main battle tank, and it's not actually a WWII tank. It entered service around 1989/1990 and is still in service today. Which means it's an awesome moder-day tank that isn't and Abrahms M1!
I like it ok, but I'm not in love with it. Whether or not I pick him up will probably depend on my mood at the time. Honestly, I would be more likely to buy him if he was part of the Universe line (even if the figure was the same). The ROTF line in general is starting to kinda turn me off...even just the look of the packaging.
Wow, why does everyone hate the spooky ghost face? I think it makes him look like a possessed suit of armor.
Nah, if you want it to look spooked, you need a more skeletal like or demonic face. Not something like this. IMO.
Maybe, but why would an alien robot have a human skull for a face? I think they did a great job of making it look just enough like a skull without overdoing it.
Maybe as a direct to video one off animation. Very cool toy, big props to Hasbro for even doing this and for finding a way to get around retailers movie line lust and put classicsie figures back on the shelves.
Even if the treads don't work (you can see the little runner wheel sticking through it on the right shoulder), the addition of the rubberized treads is a real plus for this figure. I've never really liked tank transformers due to the treads just breaking into sections for transformation, ie. X-overs Hulk, Galvatron, Brawl. This one looks like a real winner as far as tank transformation is concerned. The face isn't all that bad, especially considering that this is Hasbro's heavily Photoshopped picture we're seeing. In hand, it'll probably look better. The big eyes look a bit 'off', but I don't think it deserves as much criticism as it's getting. Besides, as was said earlier, it's an alien robot. Why would it's face need to look human at all?
I can deal with the head. He's a samurai Decepticon who turns into a decent-looking tank. Really, unless it turns out that his arms and legs don't actually move and the swords are removed for safety reasons just before release, he's bought.
