Soooo much love for Brawn. I said it's gonna be great when I saw the prototype picture, but never expect him THIS GREAT! Absolutely one of the best deluxe ever! Realistic veh mode, nice to company with the 2007 Landmine. Bot mode is awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, and awesome. He's totally G1-ish painted, in bot mode: silver helmet, yellow chest, green limbs. Duo pistols in hands; gatling gun can be placed above either shoulder. That's a lot more firepower than his G1 brother... who got killed by trying to pick on Big-gun-tron with bared hands. LOL Transformation is not difficult. Veeery smart it is. Spaces were sufficiently used. Altho pistols are detachable, you don't need to pick up them to transform. They just fit inside nicely.
Although he might be the weakest of the ones I want due to back kibble, he just looks awesome enough to buy.
I AM looking forward to this guy. Really, I am. But Peaugh's got a review somewhere that points out some flaws. Big flaws, in fact, depending on your own preferences. I recall him saying that Brawn is a shell-former... while this doesn't bother me, that might be a problem for some people. That's just one example. I'm happy for you that you got him, but your review is so subjective from the point of view of just getting it and transforming for the first time that it can't really give a good judgement of the toy. I don't meant to give you a hard time, just trying to offer constructive criticism. The pictures are AWESOME though.
I can't believe more people haven't posted about this guy already! But, then again, he was just spotted out at retail just recently... Yes, I snagged him as soon as I saw him. I even went a bit out of my way to get him, and he is AWESOME! His vehicle mode is hard to pin down. It has elements from FJ Cruiser, Hummer H3, and other trucks and military vehicles here and there. I do wish it was more identifiable and less generic looking, but it still is kickass. It has a little radar dome on top, as well as what looks like either a rail or gauss gun on top. The gun can only move up and down, but oh well. His transformation isn't too bad and is NOWHERE near as bad as a true "shellformer." I do wish his back panels and his shoulder panels folded down or up more as they do hold most of the vehicle mode details. His robot mode, though, is awesome. His head has some decent articulation to it and even is strongly reminiscent of the old G1 toy and original comic appearances. I don't mind that it doesn't have a face as the "chrome-dome" has a much more menacing appeal. His robot mode weapons are awesome. He has two small [auto?] pistols and the vehicle mode gun and be aimed to shoot over either shoulder of his. Very nice. Where I knock off points would be with the loose hips mine has. Not that all have them but it would've been nice had they been tighter. Overall, HIGHLY recommended!
For some weird reason when I stare at his chestplate, it looks like a pig face. His head looks kinda like a pig trooper from Mother 3, now I think he needs an evil decepticon repaint named Pig Wheels. Still an awesome toy though...
