Even though I didn't buy the game, I watched through some of the cutscenes, and the whole Dark Spark thing just seems incredibly dumb. So... it's the Anti-Matrix? And it keeps going from one dimension to the next through ways that are never explained? And somehow a bunch of different incarnations of Optimus Prime throughout the multiverse know about it? First of all, couldn't they have come up with a better name than "The Dark Spark"? It doesn't sound the slightest bit intimidating. Hell, they could've used "The Dead Matrix." BOOM FANWANK. Second, how is each Optimus aware of this thing's existence? It just shows up and Peter Cullen has to repeat the whole "I feared this day would come" line three times over. Third, why bother using the Gamestop G1 Optimus character model if you're not going to touch it up to make it look even more faithful to the cartoon character model? If you're gonna have G1 Prime at the end there for the sake of fanwank, go all out! Fourth, what's the point of all this? Why did this game have to be made?
Nothing in this game makes sense because nothing is ever explained. Nothing. Ever. Just go with it. Or don't.
It didn't. It really didn't. It's a shameless tie in for more media exposure for the film and they threw in the videogame universe stuff to help push it because they know we've caught on that the film games are always garbage.
Story of this game made no sense. The only reason to get it is the gameplay, if you liked FOC's gameplay.
