True, though that’s part of the package deal when asking for screen accuracy. Means smaller or no symbols on vehicles and bot modes usually didn’t have them.
For studio series itself I don’t mind it, but the screen accuracy stuff being in every single aspect of the toys, even generations atm has certainly made things a lot more boring.
Studio Series Cheetor had better pull off some kind of miracle if it wants to be on this Cheetor's level.
These are probably the best mainline figures I've seen in years. For me, they dropped the ball on mainline figures after ROTF/HFTD.
I think DOTM was a pretty darn good toy line still. For me it was AOE when things went on a downward spiral. And since then while figures feel less cheap, they just have not returned to the Dotm and earlier era.
This could be a Smash Changers Optimus Prime situation. Due to scheduling delays (Thanks to Paramount ), they may have pushed back the releases; thus requiring updated Hasbro Codes. The Hasbro codes on the listings may be outdated until Hasbro gives an update (similar to how it happened for SCOP).
I assumed the change was due to it being moved to different assortment, so I guess it could be the case with that one too.
Awwww, those look super rad! And to be clear, these takes of Cheetor and Airazor are from the main ROTB line and are largely based on concept art while the SS versions are based significantly more on the actual CG models while still using some pieces of concept art to fill in any possible blanks?
Something like that: The mainline stuff is concept art stuff SS is concept and early 3d assets. So they are more accurate but not 100% and things can change. Like Cheetor is closer than the mainline one but is missing stuff from the trailer/final design (same for Airazor).
Just got mine in today. He’s seriously fun, though the tolerances on mine are almost scary tight. He isn’t perfect, but IMO he’s more dynamic then Kingdom Cheetor. I don’t think it’s fair to compare this to SS Cheetor as they are both very different beasts(not literally lol). This one is by no means movie accurate except for it’s Cheetah mode, which is somewhat accurate the concept and marketing art, but not to the film itself. But SS Cheetor isn’t exactly accurate either and sports a very different design. I think I’d reccomend this if you want a good Cheetor and aren’t bothered by the colors(the brown comes off more as a bronze in person), but I can’t say I’d buy this over the voyager. Both do different things.
How did they go from perfect concept designs like this and airazor… to the absolute trash, borderline bayverse designs we see with SS and the actual movie? Who told them to change what was already good? Like you got it right at the start, why deviate so far from the accuracy people liked about the Bee movie G1 designs? Just looking at Wheeljack gives me TLK face impressions. I know Bay took his hands off a while ago and is only producer, but dang do the official designs suffer from the same colorless, unfaithful to source material ideology that plagued those movies. Look, I loved Bayformers as its own thing, but it really seemed like they were going in a more fan-oriented direction.
Early concept art and probably trying to go for BW show designs with more detail for the robot mode or something. The final design being almost a blend between BW and BM Cheetor. Both designs look good for different reasons IMO.
That would make sense if they did not outright remove the major defining characteristics and personalities from the designs. They also seem overdesigned compared to the Bee movie. And poor Wherljack looks like he’s in the wrong series of movies. It just seems like these mainline designs are what we should have gotten, and the SS/movie ones are what brainless executives thought we should have.
IDK I mean the final design (SS one is missing details from the final design) still looks like Cheetor to me, more than most Bayverse designs are to their original designs. The only one that are so drastically different is WJ, Battletrap and Scourge. Everyone else is pretty faithful in design. The SS Airazor is inaccurate to the trailer design beast-mode-wise, but the toy still looks like Airazor. And they're less "overdesigned" compared to the Bayverse stuff, they are more in line with the BBM stuff.
some of yall dont get that this isnt connected to anything but the Bumblebee movie, they can do basically whatever the hell the want with the designs, apart from wheeljack, i have no problem with any of the changes cause we've really only seen the 4 of the characters in the previous film
