I honestly may very well attempt to do a headswap between the two Airazors to get the more detailed head on the "mainline" figure and make that my primary ROTB Airazor representation.
Well I already had no expectations for any of the BW cast so this doesn't surprise me one bit. Looks pretty bad and if this is rest of what I can expect from the rest of the Maximals then I am glad I have no interest in most toys for this movie.
Judging from this cheetor, just imagine kingdom rhinox with some extra sculpted in details. Seems to be what Hasbro’s doing.
I swear if this thread goes off the rails like the Scourge thread did, then oh boy Imma need something strong tonight. As for Cheetor himself, wish we got to see bot mode but ah well. Cheetah mode looks nice. Kind of reminds me of Beast Machines Cheetor, like a more refined version. I'm lowkey disappointed that its looking like all these ROTB characters are just going to be retools of their Kingdom. Just gonna say this now, if Rhinox ends up being a retool of his Kingdom figure I will d- I'll most likely skip him. At the very least Primal is gonna have to have some new tricks being a leader and all right?
wow, ViceGripX, there's a name I haven't seen/heard in a long while! (I've got some various G1 I bought from him over a decade ago)
Heh, It'll be new engineering to me since I chose to stick with my T30 Rhinox instead of getting the Kingdom version.
Aside from obvious tummy arms the cheetah looks pretty good. Not a fan of the giant maximal symbol just slapped onto his noggin though. Just need to see what the robot mode will look like since I wasn't too fond of Kingdom Cheetor.
I feel like I'm one of the few that doesn't hate Kingdom Cheetor. Thank the Lord we didn't get that thing.
Good choice. Unfortunately for me I decided to give the kingdom one a go. It’s not that great and is pretty light and hollow feeling. Can’t even get rid of it either for what I paid since it isn’t selling all that well. T30 is probably best to keep.
Primevsprime must be crying right now, he can no longer hide Cheetor from us so I hope he’ll put up a review soon, he did say it was gonna be uploaded this week so then hopefully we can see his robot mode :>
Welp, it seems like they're really milking those BW Kingdom moulds. Which is fine by me since 90% of them are great and I like Kingdom Cheetor but I hope the Voyager one uses different engineering.
Yeah, looking at it more, it could really be from either line. Not so confident in my mainline guess, though we should be finding out within a few weeks. I disagree. I don’t think the figures are inherently terrible from a design perspective. I think most are just not a fan of the designs in general, which is a perfectly reasonable opinion to have. We’ve seen 3 of the mainline Deluxes (Airazor, Wheeljack, Nightbird) and 4 SS figures (BB, Battletrap, Airazor, Scourge). Of all those characters, the only one I can say is truly disappointing from an engineering and design perspective is Bumblebee. It’s just a boring toy. With Wheeljack, I don’t like the head, or design as Wheeljack, but for what it’s trying to convey, it’s a fun looking toy. I understand that some may be unhappy with rescuing engineering from the Kingdom figures, but I somewhat agree with “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Is it lazy? That’s debatable. But with these BW characters seemingly being the most true to source material aspect about this film, I don’t see the problem with reusing recent engineering to put out a good product that has delivered and Ben received well.
Maybe I can prove that Cheetor is a Voyager. Later I can take a picture of Battletrap with Mainline Deluxe Airazor. Just to show size of Mainline Deluxe and Studio Series Voyager.
